Lost in Translation
Since Kstadt fortunately offers the Berdoues fragrance palette, I can't pass by the 1902 series.

There is a tester for all the fragrances - except for Figuier and Sichuan.

But as is often the case in life, it is precisely the mysterious that is particularly alluring.

I translated Figuier on the spot as fig, and Sichuan sounds to me like Szechuan - presumably.
Following this "blue haze," I take the bottle with me.

And indeed, my intuition did not betray me - fig, dusted with Sichuan pepper, greets my nose.
No, not a "blue haze" but a surprisingly full fragrance that still remains light.

However, instead of the listed fig leaf, I perceive the entire fruit - supported by something woody - could it be fig wood?

A lovely first impression - soft and fruity intertwined with delicate sweetness.

A mild yet invigorating pepper note leads to a rosy scent - gently powdered by iris.
Musk gives the homogeneous fragrance shine and casual elegance.

Berdoues offers high-quality fragrances at an acceptable price.

This scent is also a successful companion for the day, suitable for evening events as it stays close to the skin.

I hope Kstadt continues to offer this interesting label for a long time.

Trefle and Vetiver also had to come along - but more on that soon in this theater.

Peppered Fig = Slap in the Face??
Hello and good evening, you noses, you! :D
Today I’m describing another fragrance from the 1902 Collection by Berdoues, which I recently discovered, meaning that there might be a few more comments on the fragrances from me in the future, but don’t worry, tomorrow I’ll be featuring a different brand first :))
I probably won’t describe all of them, but I just had to comment on this one.

Because you can guess three times why! If you can’t figure it out, then you don’t know me as well as you thought, mu ha ha ha ha!!

In any case, the 1902 fragrances are quite affordable, simple, but not bad-smelling little scents that are great for refreshing. As I mentioned in my first 1902 comment, I mainly compare the fragrances to the 4711 scents, of which there are now dozens, so there should be something for every taste.
And now, without further ado, I’ll finally get to the fragrance description!

The Fragrance:
The scent starts with figs and pepper. An actually strange combination, as pepper doesn’t really match the sweet-green fruits. And although the pepper comes across quite strong when sprayed on, it weakens a bit in the next moment and doesn’t come off as piercing as one might fear. It actually gets weaker as the scent develops and eventually fades completely into the background. The figs or fig leaves smell beautifully of those delicious fruits with the distinctive scent of a fig and green notes. In the first hour, however, the scent becomes slightly stuffy, as is sometimes the case with green-scented figs, but then the stuffy scent fades a bit and joins the pepper more in the background.
What remains is a fine, but weak, greenish-sweet fig scent, with a bit of musk and rose, a bit of unspecified woods, and a slightly powdery aura that must come from the iris. All in all, a small, fine, albeit slightly insignificant scent, where you can’t really go wrong at this price if you like figs.

The Sillage and Longevity:
The scent has quite a weak sillage,… I find that a shame, but I have to admit that I expected this already. Of course, it’s a casual cologne that only has a short-term refreshing effect and then remains as a mild, but nice breeze on the skin, gradually fading away. The longevity isn’t exactly the best either, as it can be smelled for about four to five hours, but during that time it radiates very, very, VERY weakly.

The Bottle:
The bottle is cylindrical and has a chrome cap. It looks quite simple, but the beautiful color of the fragrance liquid enhances the bottle. A colored band wraps around the bottle from the label, which also carries the color of the fragrance liquid, albeit in a slightly bolder shade. So it looks quite nice.

So, that was the fig scent from this fragrance line. I find fig as a fragrance note very nice; unfortunately, most of these notes tend to smell a bit stuffy, so many fig scents aren’t that great if you don’t like stuffy notes. Here, however, the stuffy phase disappears quite quickly. The scent is nice as a fig scent, but still not necessarily the best.

Additionally, the scent is quite weak in terms of projection and longevity, but it costs very little (especially online), so you can’t really go wrong for the price if you want to use various simple colognes in the summer, it’s just like the different “flavors” of the 4711 colognes. Nothing extraordinary, but still quite nice.

As I said, this scent is good for summer for a short-term refreshment that you can quickly reapply as needed. However, it is far too weak for long-term wear or going out. The rose may sound feminine, but since it is weak, I think the gentlemen can also take a look here, especially since the pepper (which becomes quite gentle later) makes the scent unisex.

So, that’s it. If you’re really looking for good fig scents, you might want to check out my fig scent list here, but just to quickly mention, I would most often recommend Fico di Amalfi by Acqua di Parma, Philosykos by Diptyque, or Debaser by D.S. Durga.

So then, have a nice evening and see you next time! :)

Achoo!! The fig
must have parked a bit too close to the pepper.
Just like the rose.
It's now sitting with iris
in the flower vase.
