A very well composed fragrance from Byredo
A very fresh summer scent. It really does embody the name incredibly well. It a breath of fresh air, lung opening and uplifting in the mid and opening. It is marvellously well blended, I find it difficult to pull out the distinct notes, and they all marry very very well with one another. It projects remarkably well for a scent of this genre I find, and it's longevity is shocking! I found it lasting up to 7/8 hours on me, after 12 hours the vetiver was still detectable against my skin and softly on my clothes as a grassy soft hayzy scent. I was very surprised by this fragrance as I am not that hot on Byredo.

Slightly more masculine leaning but can be paired with a more feminine floral scent to give a more feminine edge, or can be used with gourmands to add some air to it. I wore it alone as it was almost 30 degrees here and it was just what I needed.

very light and airy cannabis
I'm always down for putting my nose on cannabis scents, and this one really brings it.

I think it's a great one for layering, as it has a pretty loud personality, but not much to bring it down to earth, per se. I know it's called "Open Sky" but it's a little too open for me.

it can definitely be quite harsh at first, and as it dries down, again it lacks some depth,...
I think it could be really quite nice if the cannabis smell was a bit more earthy or deep as well. it smelled like a fruity sativa, maybe a chocolate-y indica would be great to balance it out.

The feeling of travel and boundless horizons
Byredo's "Open Sky" is an interesting and surprisingly complex fragrance that accurately represents its name by invoking images of vast, open landscapes and the fresh feeling one gets from clean air. Released a couple of years ago, as a limited edition, it managed to capture a sense of wanderlust, and freedom in a bottle.
The first spray offers a bright, nearly biting citrus opening. This is not a juicy-sweet citrus, but a more tart, slightly green pomelo, instantly cutting through with a bright freshness. This opening is soon accompanied by the unmistakable and somewhat peppery scent of black pepper, adding a warm, stimulating and slightly spicy note to the citrus opening to make it more than just one-dimensional.
As the perfume dries, the interesting and somewhat surprising scent of hemp leaves comes up in the heart stage of the perfume. This is certainly not a bad, overly earthy or also overly cannabis smelling scent, rather it offers a green aroma and slightly herbaceous note added to the beautiful freshness making it an interesting depth or dimension, with a little unconventionality thrown in. It integrates with the original spice, and has an almost carbonated-feel as it is quite airy.
The dry-down is where Open Sky feels particularly grounded, with the woody, warm, slightly sweet, and resinous aspect of palo santo sitting on the base, and vetiver. Palo santo has the purifying/spiritual quality, and the vetiver has earthy, smoky, and a bit of green notes which add an elegant lasting finish. The two fragrances combined remind one of the smell of sun warmed earth and dry wood, which lastly completes the sense of the great outdoors and boundless sky.
Open Sky is a great daytime wear fragrance especially during the warmer months, or any time you want to feel clear-headed and a sense of openness.

Bitter Herbal Blend with Pomelo
First of all, I would like to thank Narcoperfume for the sample; it was once again a cool experience.

The opening is quite sharp and piercing at first, not necessarily pleasant, it smells a bit like window cleaner to me, but that subsides after about 2 minutes. The slight fresh sharpness remains, though, which could very well be due to the pomelo, which I can smell for quite a long time here. The pomelo particularly makes the fragrance interesting; you definitely don't smell this every day. After about 20 minutes, the sharpness fades, and what remains is the pomelo with vetiver, pepper, and possibly hemp, which is very faint on my skin, and you have to imagine it more than actually smell it. From here on, the fragrance is very linear, fresh, green, herbal, and a bit citrusy, quite pleasant, but not really special, which one would somewhat expect given the brand and the price point, which is not exactly low. Of course, not every fragrance has to break the mold and distinguish itself from all other works, but then you also shouldn't have to pay over 100 euros to experience such a scent direction and quality. This brings me to the point about the H/S: on me, it is very comparable to Coolwater; it is relatively long-lasting for a fresh scent, but at no point is it really perceivable to others. Even after spraying, you can only smell me from half a meter away, so don't expect any crazy performance here. The advantage of this fragrance: it is wearable for everyone; I would even claim it is unisex, nothing here really feels super masculine. The scent is light and relatively modern, although I would argue that it has a slight vintage touch, especially in the late drydown, where you can smell a herbal freshness that reminds me of aftershave.

Conclusion: A solid fresh herbal spring and summer scent with mediocre performance; whether the price is justified for one is something everyone must decide for themselves.

Sweaty Summer Evening
A modern, slightly offbeat fragrance. Pomelo and cannabis that together veer into sharp and green-bitter territory. Fresh, but not clean.

To me, Open Sky smells like summer in Amsterdam. Smoke in the street and a vacation vibe. The pomelo quickly tips into the sweaty, but in a good way. Not unkempt, but physical. Like sweaty skin after a hot summer evening.

In the drydown, it becomes woodier with vetiver and something resinous, still slightly smoky, but calmer. Open Sky is not a crowd-pleaser; rather, it's a scent for those who enjoy freshness but with a bit of dirtiness. That's exactly what makes it exciting.

Very nice pomelo opening and smooth Palo Santo base note - however, the cannabis note is a bit too realistic for me to wear that...

With Pomelo Propeller, from 0 to 800, then a three-hour glide over pepper fields & herb forests, hemp & citrus meadows. Gentle landing.

Phew, this one’s not for me. Pungent acidity with a cannabis smell and spicy aftertones. Quite loud at first, but bearable over time.

I love this Scandinavian coolness from Byredo. This time with a pronounced hemp note. Very casual with vetiver and grapefruit. I like it.

Fruity, orange-sour hemp evolves into a woody base. Original, but the attentive traffic cop will ask questions.

Tingly & ozonic, pepper on grapefruit, the herb sweet, then vetiver, wood, a bit of patch. A chill cousin of Terre d’Hermès. OK.

Interesting vetiver scent. Soft-citrusy hemp with Palo Santo. Fresh, slightly sweet. But I prefer to smell it on a man.

At first, it's so angular and edgy that it could be a Diptyque!
Later, the typical Byredo hippie vibe comes through.
Peppery and zesty.
