Berry-spicy edition
The 212 series by Carolina Herrera is my absolute favourite series. Whoever follows me knows that I don't miss any release and I am looking forward to every new release. Things have gone quiet around the 212 series. For this purpose, a new collection has been created with the 212 VIP series. Among them is a range of party scents, which can also be worn on many other occasions. Not all but many. This is already the 7th release of this 212 sub-series. 2 fragrances, which are produced unlimited and the rest (including this one) are limited editions. Fortunately I have secured all of them as many are no longer available. So far I have not been disappointed and I love to wear them all. By the way, the women's series is also very beautiful
With 212 Black a new series has been created. 212 VIP Black and 212 VIP Black Extra were releases that came before that. The Original Black EDP is a true spicy powerhouse with a pleasant sweetness and crass absinthe note. You definitely stand out, not only because of the performance. The Extra was a slightly more subtle spice with significantly more sweetness. Now after small digressions to the new Black Red:
I secured this one shortly after the release was announced, because limited editions are sold out quickly and this one is more for the Spanish and American market anyway. You can get it for relatively little money, especially for a new release.
The flacon is really a feast for the eyes. Heavy bottle and a beautiful metallic red. No long drink glass this time. On the box and in the campaign it says: This Product Saves Lives. I have read that parts of the prize goes to an AIDS foundation. A great thing.
From the scent, the DNA is clearly recognizable from the original black. The power wort from the original was dimmed down considerably. The typical absinthe note is still there, but here it has been refreshed with ginger and a nice berry note. Almost reminds a bit of the Black XS by Paco Rabanne. Not a fragrance twin but whoever likes it might find this one just as pleasing. This limited edition is also not too cute. For me a well-balanced mixture of sweetness, spice and soft berry notes. This scent never gets too heavy.
Of course the performance can't keep up with the original EDP, which is really hard. Nevertheless very pleasantly about skin-close and very everyday life suitably arranged. Also the durability is really good with about 10 hours
Conclusion: A successful limited edition. The big wow is missing, as there have been many similar fragrances that have appeared in a similar direction. Especially for collectors and fans of sweet-spicy-berry fragrances a nice release for a fair price
