Delicate and solemn kind of scent

A colleague of mine learned of my passion for fragrance and decided to gift me a few of her perfumes she had at home. I was really excited to find out if her tastes were similar to mine. This is one of her gifts!

I was hoping I'd smell mandarine and lychee, two amazing fruits, but they weren't there. Instead I got the pepper, zingy and spicy. I'm starting to think my skin chemistry loves pepper because whenever this note exists in a perfume it always pulls strongly. Fortunately, the may rose starts to appear a bit shyly at first, but becomes more assertive as time passes. It gives off a nice sweet, delicate floral scent. Unfortunately, it all goes down after this. Spicy pepper makes a comeback and there's an accord in there that makes me think of a funeral home or the scent of a solemn place. It smelled a bit like the scent of my grandmother, which was nostalgic, but also not what I'd want to smell. Way too mature for where I'm at in my journey into fragrances.

A lot of people love this fragrance, so I'm thinking it might be a me problem. I'm not sure I appreciate the mix of fresh, green and woody scents together. All in all, it is a delicate scent that many might love, but it was just not for me.

Come, let's take a walk in the forest....

My first fragrance from Clean Reserve that came into my hands, and to get straight to the point, it's a real surprise.

Right after spraying, the scent starts off green-floral. The fragrance has no sweet notes; it begins rather fresh. The Sichuan pepper briefly says hello and then disappears, yet it remains ever-present. I don't smell mandarin or lychee; it stays completely unisex and belongs to the spicy-woody fragrance family.

The fact that this scent is said to be only for women irritates me.
Men need not fear the scent and the May rose, as the rose, when you think you can sense it, comes across rather spicy-oriental and integrates perfectly into the fragrance, giving it a slightly soft touch and making it easily wearable for women like me.

Once the initial alcohol has evaporated, very intense, strong spicy notes come directly to the nose, resting on woods and reminding me of a walk in the forest when it hasn't rained for a while and the ground is slightly dry. Light smoky notes-probably from the frankincense-come through in waves. The frankincense, unlike in other fragrances, does not unpleasantly take center stage but remains discreetly in the background, yet always perceptible. Moss, rather dry, also makes its presence known and gives the fragrance a green heart.

For me, the scent has a very intense, powerful aroma. A fragrance that has truly captured my attention.

In my opinion, it fits particularly well in summer and autumn; for the winter months, I miss spices like clove or cinnamon.
The bottle is-fitting for the brand-kept clean, which I really like.

For fans of spicy-green-woody fragrances, this is a genuine recommendation to buy.

Walk

The day was hot and the night barely brought any relief, robbing me of sleep. Early in the morning, I get up, as sleep is out of the question. I leave the house and walk through the streets. It is quiet, only the birds are already awake. The flowers are opening in the morning sun. It smells delicately of the blossoms from the gardens. Not sweet, rather fresh and gentle like the morning. Then I reach the forest. In the shade of the trees, it becomes cooler, the scent of leaves surrounds me. Then finally, the relieving summer rain comes, making the heat more bearable. I wait under a tree until the shower passes. The forest now smells fresh of leaves, moss, and wood, but still gentle, like a caress on the skin. When I return home, I feel fresh and rested. On my skin, the gentle afterglow of leaves, wood, and moss still lingers.
Sweetbriar & Moss is an unusual, very beautiful summer fragrance. Despite the blossoms, it is not sweet, not
citrusy, rather gentle, elegant, and grounded.

Greenwashing

"Clean Reserve Avant Garden - Sweetbriar & Moss" - complicated name, simple scent.

A floral walk in the woods. Sweetheart seeks sweet wood. Without too much grating. Without moss, nothing happens. Future spa. One of the more feminine moss scents I've encountered so far. Relaxation and a feeling of nudity. Letting go and arriving. Behind the horizon, it gets cheerful. Dewy fresh meadow with an Asian breeze. Air freshener gone luxury. Scented candles take away hip pain. Massage without rage. Little fire in the butt, even forest elves need a loo. Pure floral landscape, understatement almost to the point of being pathological. A dog playground in heaven.

Bottle: woody green shimmer - fine!
Sillage: very thin, but not bad
Longevity: 4-6 hours, my skin absorbs it

Conclusion: a nice, subtle, green floral - and that's not meant to be sneaky at all!

Ice Flowers in Moss Green

This is once again one of those fragrances that seems very cool to me. Bright, clear, and almost icy - at first. The peppery lychee-mandarin likely contributes to this effect. It doesn’t get much warmer, even though subtle May roses, saffron, and delicate incense shimmer through. It remains transparent, then becomes mossy and woody.
The entire scent evokes quirky images in me: A window in a forest wooden house, adorned with moss green ice flowers in the shape of roses. Although it is already early spring, there is still a certain harsh night frost that conjures those cold, delicate structures onto the glass. From the outside, they are sprinkled with moss crumbs, giving the texture a somewhat rough appearance.
I can well imagine this "clean" perfume in the height of summer when one craves refreshment. Or on cold days in winter or early spring, to really highlight the cold effect. Of course, that’s a matter of taste. A child also said that when it bit into a chunk of soap ;-))
