One of the few successful blind buys

I have owned Sueded Oud for a while now (since last summer). It was a blind buy made solely by the raving reviews from Anne Lauren (yes, once again she's managed to do so!).
I don't know why and I don't know how, but I managed to forget to write a review and even worse, add the fragrance to my Parfumo shelf.

I have made mistakes blind buying a fragrance before, so I didn't dare to get the full bottle, but I managed to find a 10 ml bottle perfect for an introduction.
Luckily, Sueded Oud, wasn't a mistake.

The name Sueded Oud alludes to a dominating and strong fragrance, but the key wording here is 'sueded'. This fragrance is smooth and delicate, just like I imagine the word sueded to be - making something softer like the feeling of soft suede.

I don't know how Clean did it, but this fragrance has so many notes whereas the scent itself is very simple.
Pimento, cactus, praline, incense, patchouli, birch, cypress... This should knock you out like the first spray of Oud for Greatness, but instead, Sueded Oud comforts you, snuggles you in and feels like a freshly washed warm and cozy blanket.
It has a wonderful projection and I feel confident wearing it, it is perfect for an office job, a meeting or if you want to emanate maturity and confidence.

Though not like that of praline, which I find sticky sweet, Sueded Oud has a perfectly sweetened balance that is delicate and feminine. It isn't just a cashmere soft scent. Very close to skin, I even find it powdery, but in a very endearing way.

Oud Goes Nude

I chose "Sueded Oud" when I was jumping between the Clean Reserve fragrances. The vetiver and the raun were also great on the first sniff. But somehow this subtle, underlying oud scent suited my mood best. I didn't want to be in the spotlight, the clouds were getting darker, autumn was rolling in. A fragrance that combines beauty and melancholy, blurring sadness and reliability.

"This oud" is noble, and with it, you always smell good. You just shouldn't seek the grand entrance or want to play the first fiddle. A good friend, a reliable companion, a sexy skin scent when it matters. A suit fragrance that puts the suit or, even better, the man in the foreground. Not itself. Last weekend, I was the best man at my best buddy's wedding, two beautiful days. And this woody musk charmer is just perfect for such occasions. It made me happy and let others shine. It has to happen sometimes. The company sees the line as a layering collection. However, I'm not a fan of that. "Sueded Oud" stands alone perfectly and is a crystal-clear recommendation for those looking for a defensive, glassy, and silky agarwood.

Bottle: thick glass, great wooden cap, understated, matching the scent.
Sillage & longevity: extremely, extremely subtle. You can forget about compliments after 4-5 hours.

Conclusion: Oud in underwear. Or as a best man. Unobtrusive, noble, human. Oud Wood in light and transparent. Simply pleasant.

For Oud Fans Who Don't Like Oud

As a perfume beginner, after purchasing standard designer fragrances and further browsing through Parfumo, it became clear to me: I needed an Oud scent.
I didn't want to shop at Mül..., not at Doug..., and not online, where I usually bought fragrances. So, on that day, I entered a real perfumery for the first time.
When I asked about Oud, the saleswoman first showed me the classic: TF Oud Wood. My inexperienced nose was shocked; it smelled terrible. "So this is supposed to be the breathtakingly scented wood that everyone on Parfumo raves about?" I thought to myself. My face must have clearly reflected my thoughts, as the saleswoman immediately showed me another fragrance with the words: "This one is not quite as strong": Sueded Oud by Clean. When I smelled this, I regained my trust in Parfumo. I detected a complex but not overwhelming scent, which I would best describe as woody, spicy, and slightly sweet. "This is Oud!" I thought to myself and bought the perfume.

In the meantime, I have tried other fragrances, including more Oud scents. Even today, I am convinced that the DNA or the scent itself is really very beautiful. Woody Spicy Sweet already sounds like fun. But Oud? I hardly smell Oud. At least not the typical Oud scent as one knows it from Oud Wood, etc. I also know today that the longevity and especially the sillage are rather in the lower midfield, which is really a shame given the beautiful scent. Overall, however, a recommendation for Oud fans who do not like Oud.

Perfect Oud Scent for Everyday Use

For me, this is a frequent companion in my daily life, my everyday oud, so to speak. Light, clean, yet still present. It layers very well: with zarkoperfume the muse for even more cleanliness, or with etro vicolo fiori edt for more sweetness, or with delina la rosee for more floral notes. Longevity is significantly improved through layering.

Clean Oud

Clean. I have often seen this fragrance brand here, but I haven't had the chance to test even one scent. Now, thanks to a lovely Parfuma, I have received some samples… uh, oops, I am clean,… I meant some samples :D
Okay, that joke was probably a bit lame, but at least you can pretend to laugh. After all, it's still Christmas! :DD
But you have to admit that "samples" rhymes suspiciously well with "drugs," and Parfumas and Parfumos are known to be addicts… uh, of samples, of course…!! He he he.

Well, let's start with the scent. Just because of the brand name, I would expect the fragrance (as well as all the scents from it) to be a bit clean, maybe even slightly soapy… but we shall see…

The Scent:

At first, I smell some incense as well as oud. Both notes are clearly detectable, even though they are not particularly strong. The oud is a bit weaker than the incense and does not smell pungent or harsh, as it can sometimes do.
Additionally, there are slightly sweet, powdery scents that are stronger at the beginning, but within five minutes, they don't disappear, but share their place with the spicy notes, which I cannot identify.
Later in the base, it actually smells almost the same as it did at the beginning. You still mainly smell incense and oud with sweet notes (I believe the sweetness comes from musk and jasmine), just everything is a bit weaker, but also softer, powdery, and,… as the brand name probably already suggests and I thought too, cleaner.
A little leather comes into play, but this note is also very soft. Overall, a scent that is quite weak, but smells soft and clean, making it pleasant.

The Sillage and Longevity:

The projection is really not the best. The scent hardly stands out and when it does, it is really only up close.
The longevity is a bit better and could be described as simple average. I mean about five to seven hours.

The Bottle:

The bottle is rectangular and has a very thick glass bottom. The sticker on the front is white, square, and you can see the name on it. The cap looks like it is made of wood, but I can't say for sure since I only know the bottle from pictures.
All in all, not very spectacular, but quite okay.

Sueded Oud is a simple or (in terms of projection) weak scent that smells warm and soft. It mainly smells of incense, oud, clean, and slightly sweet notes. In between, there is briefly something spicy, but that quickly disappears or recedes into the background.

I think it is good for occasionally spraying on oneself at home (on colder days). It could also be a subtle going-out scent, although then the fragrance will of course mostly be for oneself.

All in all, quite good, as long as you like clean notes, but don't worry, clean doesn't necessarily mean soapy :D
