After trying the EDT and EDP of Warm Cotton in the past few days (or weeks), and of course the EDT of Fresh Laundry, it was clear that I also had to test the EDP of Fresh Laundry.
Some might say that this is a waste of time and that EDTs and EDPs never really differ from each other. To those "some," I just say: "SHUT UP!" (that's the polite word for "shut your mouth" :D), because EDTs and EDPs can sometimes differ quite significantly! I found the differences in Warm Cotton to be quite noticeable as well, which is why I'm very curious about this fragrance!
Well, here we are again talking about fresh laundry. Once more! But then I promise I’ll be done with the Clean scents (for now)! :D
Hmm, it's funny how everyone loves to slip into fresh laundry that is clean, tidy, and freshly ironed, hanging or lying in the closet. Because it feels pleasant and gives you a clean sensation. But washing and ironing that laundry… most people hate it because it's such a tedious task. And as if that weren't tedious and boring enough, it often happens that the other side of the clothing gets creases when you iron the opposite side. That means, if I iron the back of a T-shirt, I sometimes suddenly see long stripes on the front that I have to iron again, which then creates stripes on the back again, especially with more complicated clothing. God, I hate it when that happens, so I usually iron the front as best as I can and prefer to be wrinkled on the back, heh heh :D
Or to put it simply: I just can't iron properly… and I don't want to!!!
Anyway, I've talked enough here, so let’s finally get to the fragrance description before you all melt from the heat or something!
The Fragrance:
Fresh laundry! How wonderful. Well, actually, you first smell more like laundry detergent. Specifically, that fine powder in the thick, unwieldy boxes. The kind that smells so good that you’d almost want to lick it with your tongue. And then you have to briefly think about how "not so healthy" it might be to lick laundry detergent. So you recoil for a moment, give yourself a little reminder tap on the arm, and realize through the signaling of the Ruffini corpuscles under your skin that you hit a bit too hard, causing your brain to react with some serious cursing! :DD
Anyway, besides the laundry detergent, I can actually smell a hint of orange (which is a difference from the EDT, where you smell pineapple instead). Unfortunately, I smell the limes and cut grass less; they could have been a lot more intense (because I love the smell of cut grass! If I weren't such a lazy bum, I would mow the lawn every day :DD). I also find that the aforementioned laundry detergent smells a bit stronger here, while the fabric softener note is somewhat weaker than in the EDT.
By the way, there are some synthetic notes, but what do you expect from a fragrance that is supposed to smell like fresh laundry or laundry detergent? That's done on purpose, and to be honest, I don't find these synthetic notes as bad as everyone here writes.
Jasmine is also listed in the fragrance pyramid, but I don't perceive it, just as I don't really notice the heliotrope, which often has a slight almond scent. Musk, on the other hand, can be faintly perceived; it sometimes smells a bit clean, making it fit well with this fragrance, although, as mentioned, it is a bit weak and, in my opinion, only really noticeable in the later base when the "laundry detergent" becomes a bit weaker. However, the musk doesn't make the fragrance sweet. Otherwise, it remains predominantly laundry detergent-like, somewhat synthetic, and cleanly powdery.
The Sillage and Longevity:
Hmm… I would say that the sillage of the fragrance is slightly stronger than that of the EDT, but in general, it remains weak and can only be perceived from close by. Unfortunately, it also becomes very close to the body quite quickly.
The longevity is significantly higher than that of the EDT, lasting five to six hours.
The Bottle:
The bottle is rectangular and made of semi-transparent glass tinted in light pastel blue. There is no label on the front; the name and brand are directly on the bottle. The cap is cylindrical and chrome-plated. It's not a very beautiful bottle, but rather somewhat practical, although the color of the bottle is quite pretty.
So, based on some of the comments and statements, I have to say that the fragrance is not as bad as it is rated here. I actually quite liked it. It's a scent that only those who enjoy clean, laundry-like fragrances will really appreciate. For everyone who doesn't like cleanliness and would rather roll in the mud, well, they probably won't find much to enjoy in such a fragrance :D
Oh, and… since we're talking about mud… I might find many things sexy, but mud wrestling with women is not exactly stimulating, no matter how much the cute butt might shine through the wet muck,… um, just wanted to mention that casually, hmmm… :DD
Anyway, I find the synthetic notes here okay and by no means painfully chemical or anything :D
Overall, the fragrance has to be somewhat synthetic since it’s supposed to smell like laundry detergent and fresh laundry. However, it seemed to me that the EDT of this fragrance smelled significantly better and was hardly stuffy (although the stuffiness here in the EDP is also minimal and hardly noticeable). Well, the fragrance is still nice and, with its clean-fresh aura, is indeed a summer scent, but I think it could even be an all-rounder that you could wear in any season.
So… for everyone who likes clean scents, you can definitely give this one a try, and you should also test the EDT if possible.
So… *sigh* tomorrow I have to iron again… at six or seven in the morning! Because at that time, I also ventilate the apartment before it gets unbearably hot again… NO LUUUUUST!!!
And no more desire for the dreadful heat!!! 30 degrees is nice and all, but anything above that just takes the fun out of summer and is simply disgusting! :DD
