A little sugar, a little sparkle, a little meh

This is supposedly similar to Radiant Nectar, which in turn is said to be similar to Ariana Grande's God is a Woman. I haven't tried Radiant Nectar yet, but I definitely see a resemblance to GIAW. Even though this doesn't have a pear note, I smell a pear-like juicy sweetness in this that is very close to the pear in GIAW. They also feel like they are quite similar in texture.

Sparkling Sugar is fruitier and fresher though, the peach and blackcurrant are definitely noticeable. To me it feels very pink and girly. True to the name it has sparkling and sugary facets: The opening with its refreshing fruit notes is the sparkling part, while the base smells like creamy white musk drenched in melting sugar. A hint of woodsy notes rounds it out.
My problem with this is that it feels very middle-of-the-road. Not sparkling enough to be a true summer freshie, but not enough sugar to be a real gourmand. I'm sure it hits the perfect spot and feels very balanced and nice for some other noses, but to mine, it sits in a weird inbetween place. Neither here nor there. Maybe I would have liked it more if they amped up either the sweetness or the fresh blackcurrant, I don't know. The way it is, it's not bad by any means, but not exactly a knockout either.

I noticed I liked this better on a tissue than on my skin, maybe it's just not made for me.

Slightly sweet but clean scent!

After the strong initial blast of alcohol (was not expecting it to be so strong), you're met with a sweet fruity smell. There’s also a slight zing coming from the ambrette seed. I could smell a mix of nice juicy, sweet and slightly tart blackcurrant mixed with peaches: a soft fruity accord. I was truly surprised, since I wasn't expecting much from this perfume given all the reviews I saw on Fragrantica and Sephora. There's also this lovely aspect of sugar coming from the sugar note that ties it all together with the creamy jasmine. It's a pretty feminine scent. The drydown is an unusual blend of musk, tonka beans and blond woods which surprised me. There’s a nice creaminess in there, but also a weird accord that doesn’t vibe as well with my nose which is unfortunate because I did love the top and middle notes. I’m not sure which is the culprit although I’m hesitating between the white musk and blond woods. Could also be a powdery aspect I’m detecting that isn’t helping everything.

It's a scent that stays really close to the skin. For those who are looking for powerhouses or strong perfumes that leave a sillage, this is not it. I think it's pretty inoffensive and nice if you want to wear it for relaxing or in a setting where you're going to be close to people. It's not the best fruity scent out there, but I did love the blackcurrant and peach interpretation. Unfortunately, I did not like the dry down (and I’m still trying to figure out why) and will thus not be adding it to my collection.

Dewy peaches

This has a wonderfully light and airy fragrance.

It's fruity and sweet at first spray, like peach-infused sugar water. The white florals and musk help to balance the sweetness and give it more body. The peach is there for most of the wear before leaving you with a saccharine skin scent.

This perfume is very refreshing and somewhat intimate. Not very complex but beautiful in its simplicity. The longevity is about 6-7 hours on me and the sillage is moderate.

More Like Sparkling Fruit

This smells almost exactly like Radiant Nectar, including the interesting tangy note I noted from that. This is sweet for sure but I would call "Sparkling Sugar" a misnomer because the prominent note isn't sugar at all; it's a lot more fruit-forward than I was expecting and although there aren't any citrus fruits in the mix I'm definitely picking something citrusy. Also similar to Sun Fruit. This makes me want to laze around in the sun and will be great for warm weather!

Sparkling Sugar

Deliciously delicate peach-infused sugar water. Very sweet and fruity. Doesn’t lean artificial/synthetic, either; this is photorealistic fresh peach. As it settles the musk becomes increasingly prominent, until the whole thing fades airily away. Ethereal and beautiful. A scent I will hopefully revisit at some point in the future.
