* sigh *
I often write in my comments that I don't really know much about flowers and floral scents, and what happens? A fragrance comes my way that is simply called "Magnolia." Greeeaat. Without Googling, I don't even know what magnolias look like, let alone how they actually smell.
And yet I'm trying to write a comment here?
How did I come up with the crazy idea to describe such a floral scent? It's not like there's a perfume fairy behind me, forcing me to write such comments (although some would actually love to read something from me every day, like a kind of goodnight comment, so to speak,... and woe to me if I skip a day... what do I have to endure to keep you satisfied!!!).
Well then, let's start sniffing... *sigh*
The scent:
At first, I smell a beautiful grapefruit that is zesty and fresh. There are also light (and indeterminate) green notes. Then it gets a bit more floral *sigh*
Well then, let's see what I can somewhat identify.
Water lilies. Yes, I think I can smell them, as I remember a fragrance that also had water lilies. I just can't recall which fragrance it was, but that note seems so familiar. Then I guess there are slightly stuffy magnolias, as I can rule out everything else from the fragrance pyramid for now. If magnolias are not supposed to smell dry and stuffy, then it's just flowers in general, as the scent really becomes more floral. However, the stuffiness doesn't last long, and the fragrance generally smells of beautiful flowers, a bit watery like the scent in a florist's shop, and also slightly sweet.
Ah, I can detect roses, what an achievement! :D
Ylang-ylang, on the other hand, seems to be completely absent; I would have recognized that scent as it often comes across as heavy and muggy to me.
In the base, it smells, as you can already guess, floral. However, the sweetness is slightly heightened, which should come from the amber. Oak moss is less present, though.
Okay, the scent turned out pretty good! :D
The sillage and longevity:
The projection at the beginning is quite strong, especially when the grapefruit is still prominent. But even later, the scent maintains a good sillage and is thus easily detectable from a normal distance. It's not room-filling, but you definitely carry a little scent trail behind you :D
I found the longevity to be good as well, as it lasted over eight hours on me.
The bottle:
The bottle is cylindrical and white or transparent with a slightly grayish tone. The label is completely white, and the name of the fragrance is written in bronze color. The cap is white and also cylindrical. All in all, it's okay, but it seems too simple for me.
Okay, I must admit that despite a temporarily stuffy scent, this fragrance turned out really nice. It smells lovely of... well,... flowers and such, but later in a beautiful, sweet, watery way, not the dry, stuffy kind that I always find unbearable :D
Otherwise, the scent has a surprisingly strong sillage, which some might find overwhelming due to the many flowers; you just have to try it out, as the sillage and good longevity make this fragrance suitable for going out in spring and summer, although it also works well in autumn. So I would give it a try :)
* sigh *
I just saw that there's another floral scent in the Commodity Wander package. A fragrance called Mimosa... argh,... I think I'll just write a statement about Mimosa, he he he :D
