In the Flower Department
Here we have another plant that you’ve probably seen but never really paid attention to its scent. What, you know what wisteria smells like? Good for you, I didn’t know! Woe to anyone who laughs now, they may not continue reading… oh, but you won’t listen anyway, right? :D
Alright, then I’ll move right on to the scent description. Wisteria doesn’t smell bad, but somehow different than expected…
The scent:
Upon spraying, you can smell something menthol- and eucalyptus-like, which is cool but also pleasant. Once these notes settle a bit, the floral scent comes through, which reminded me a bit of tulips. Overall, it smells like the flower department of a hardware store or like a flower shop. Because you can smell not only the various floral notes but also the (moist) potting soil. A little later, the scent becomes slightly sweeter.
The longevity is weak, as the scent doesn’t last longer than about 30-60 minutes on the skin. Now and then, it can still be detected, but then very, very faintly.
The sillage is below average, it could have been stronger.
The bottle is a completely normal container for the fragrance and has a label on it that couldn’t be more boring. At least the bar on which the name of the fragrance is printed is colored in the shade of the plant, but that’s not such a great achievement either.
Wisteria not only looks like a beautiful plant species, it also smells good. Since I didn’t know how these plants smell, I can’t say whether the scent is authentic, but it smells quite nice. It’s somewhat less suitable for wearing, as otherwise you would smell like a flower shop, but if that doesn’t bother you, feel free to use it, as due to the low sillage, the scent is not overwhelming.
