Musk from a to z
When spraying Femme, I smell musk immediately. The beautiful lily accompanies it so great in the beginning. Later, the wisteria and cyclamen take its place - still musk. Finally, the woods land the musk with perfection.
The four D&G fragrances in my collection are all wonderful and unique. The floral Sicily, the powdery Dolce & Gabbana edt, the spicy By woman - and the musky Femme. I keep forgetting how great Femme is. The floral musky beginning is something else and it keeps sending out these whiffs of sweetness and musk. Just in the right amount.
The simplicity of the bottle suits the scent.
Well done, D&G!

Another one of Dolce&Gabbana great 90s trio
It starts with a strong and bold lily note, just like the flower that some people consider too strong and annoying, even headache inducing. This starting is the same, if you can't stand strong lily it is not for you. I happen to love the lily scent so I like it a lot, considering it's rare in perfumery for the reasons described above. There is a little trace of other flowers, but I almost don't feel them, the lily is very strong it's almost a soliflore.

The base is musky and a little bit dusty, powdery, but not sweet. That's basically it, the fragrance is not some kind of a sophisticated composition, but it is beautifully blended. It is also not a fresh lily soliflore, the lily is deep, strong and invasive. The fragrance is sensual, even though not sweet at all, leathery and dusty, but not suffocating and still clean somehow, not dark.

Try it if you love all invading intense perfume of a lily flower. If you hate it don't waste your time. I happen to love it a lot, so this one is one of my favourites. But this is not 'white flowers tender' kind of fragrance. Quite the opposite, it's strong and intense, can be tiring, it's an evening fragrance.

The more it dries down, the less floral and more musky it becomes.

Feminine and fresh
When I tried this fragrance for the first time I was highly impressed, so excited with my find that I somehow managed to spray my face with the tester, (at least my face smelt nice).

D&G Feminine is a soft and clean type of scent which manages to combine a certain sweetness, creating a unique and interesting fragrance. I believe the opening is what people call a white musk.

I don't sense the mandarin orange in this fragrance at all, I get mostly an array of floral notes, which are beautifully blended I might add. D&G Feminine is actually the first 'clean' fragrance that I've been ecstatic over.

The drydown is the one thing that stops me from buying this fragrance. Although still a lovely scent, the musk becomes very dominant and artificial smelling, reminding me of my grandmother's house, (possibly the smell of mothballs). The sweetness completely disappears, and in my opinion, the scent loses its personality.

The lasting power is quite astounding for an EDT, lasting most of the day.

For wearers that don't mind the drydown, D&G Feminine would make an excellent 'go-to fragrance', even a great signature scent.
