Shrub Cocktail
First of all I am a big fan of the light blue DNA and therefore want to try all flankers if possible. I saw an offering for 38€ for 125ml and ordered it immediately since these flanker are really hard to get.
The presentation is like all the light blue flankers very elegant with a slightly yellow/greenish liquid.
The scent start with a sour blast a the opening. I mostly got parsley and dill. Some people before said it smells like pickle juice and can't deny it there is definitely a vinegary smell to it. It think you have to get used to this smell. It is somewhat refreshing but in a way I havent experienced up to today. Some like Italians like to drink thickened up vinegar as aperitif before meals. There is also a drink called "shrub" which is a cocktail with added vinegar which is said to be very refreshing in the summer time. So yea it may lean into that direction. After some minutes I also get a small sulphurous nuance. Not an egg smell at so don't worry... but its hard to describe. The title may describe it the best, discover Vulcano. Herbal, aromatic, mediterranean, mineralic and a bit sulphuric and dusty.
I wouldn't describe it as generic at all. Its definetly not a mass pleaser and there is hardly anything left from the light blue DNA.
The longevity is average, I would say 4-5 hours for me.
Is it a must buy? definitely not
is it a save blind buy? definitely not.
It is a nice addition for a light blue collector
And since it is getting quite rare the price may increase during the next 2 years and you could even sell it with making a profit if you don't like it.
