Velvet Passion Oud
The opening is bright and fruity with a passion fruit accord. This quickly dissipates and turns into a smoky incense that is a bit mysterious and very satisfying to the nose. The dry down seems to be a slight oud with a silk scent. It is one of the smoothest oud dry downs I have ever smelled. The scent projects loud for an hour or two and lasts as a smooth silky oud scent for 6-7 hours.
As others have mentioned the DNA is similar to Oud Maracuja but there are difference. Oud maracuja is brighter and fruitier while Velvet Passion Oud is the smoky mysterious cousin. If you want to make a statement and want an in your face fragrance go with Oud Maracuja by Maison Crivelli. If you want a more subdued, mysterious fragrance go with Velvet Passion Oud by Dolce & Gabana.
I also view Velvet Passion Oud as better for cooler temperatures, where as Oud Maracuja thrives in hot temperatures.
