Linear, Not Balanced, Too Sweet!!

I was not impressed by this. I wanted so badly to love "Honore Delights" but sadly it was just not in the cards for me. I'm a hardcore Gourmand lover so I was really excited about sampling this. I sprayed it on and waited a bit and I took a sniff and it was nothing special. So I sniffed again because I felt like my nose was betraying me, I had hopes and dreams of being swept away to a magical Gourmand place by this fragrance but it never happened. It was like an airplane on the tarmac in taxi mode and its just slowly circling and the passengers are trying to figure out why is the plane not taking off?? What is the real malfunction here!? I realized after sniffing yet again that for me "Honore Delights" doesn't work ultimately because its way too sweet. It's linear and extremely cloying!!. That is saying a lot from me because I love myself some sweet. I'm the Queen of Sweet and I'd rule over Candyland if I could! Lol. But with time I realized I don't just want a sweet bomb, I want sweet, but with balance and complexity and this in my humble opinion does not posses those traits.

Cream in a Bottle

Normally, I test fragrances longer before I decide to buy.
With this scent, I sprayed it once and came back after 2 hours to purchase it.
The image that unfolds before me is a feather floating in a gentle breeze.
It conveys an absolute sense of well-being and reminds me of beautifully moisturized skin.
The sillage and longevity are correspondingly very subtle. The price is quite high - nevertheless, I decided to make the purchase.
A fragrance that is so unobtrusive that I wear it to go to sleep.
For me, it’s a cuddle scent… one that you might only wear for yourself.

You Are So Familiar to Me - From the Apocalypse to the Cake Buffet

Fragrances are indeed a bit like friends to me. Sometimes they are companions for a phase of life or even lasting loves. Family members. The name I give them doesn't really matter. And when a scent feels familiar to me, the barrier to wanting it becomes lower.

At first, I thought we wouldn't become the best of friends with Honoré Delights. I can't always handle Ambrette. It comes across as woody to me, often a bit artificial. However, Honoré Delights evolved from a scent with a slight nerve note to a damn good friend. Initially, ELdO's La Fin Du Monde greeted me in the opening. Iris, Ambrette, something woody that already hints at the base note. A fragrance I once fell in love with but didn't want to keep. With ELdO, the disruptive note was more pronounced. But it's no secret that I often struggle with Quentin Bisch's fragrances.

Honoré Delights accompanied me longer, and I recognize even more familiarity and love. In the base note, a wonderfully delicate, soft, and refined vanilla comes to the forefront. The kind of vanilla I got to know and love with Tokyomilk's Let Them Eat Cake. With Tokyomilk, the love faded after a bottle length. This scent had too much sweetness, too much coconut, so after using up 30 milliliters, I didn't crave a refill. But I couldn't forget that delicate vanilla. It visited me once again now with Honoré Delights. And this time without coconut and without excessive sweetness. Instead, it's in a soft, skin-close perfume, which is how I almost always prefer my scents.

Well, what can I say? I will probably have to get it after all, even though we had a bit of a rough start together. Whether it will stay permanently remains to be seen. And what makes it even more familiar and beautiful for me: it has a hint of one of my absolute favorite perfumes, albeit on Mr. Polly. Namely, Cašran by Chopard. Only the masculine aspect, that slight touch of fougère notes that belong to Cašran, is missing here. Instead, a very gentle neroli citrus comes in, along with a bit more vanilla. A hint of iris also lingers until the end, giving the fragrance a more feminine touch for me. With still just a tiny idea as if my skin had kissed Cašran.

Oh yes, I love you, Honoré Delights. Thank you, my dear Connie. I think I’m going to get it now.

Heavenly.

Heavenly and quiet you are. Actually, you are too quiet and too shy for me, but you smell so incredibly heavenly that you should move in with me. Occasionally, I think you have left, but then I catch a whiff of a delicate scent cloud, but it is a whisper. You are shy and very quiet. If only you could be a little bolder and stay with me a bit longer...

Your unbelievably beautiful ambrette note combined with a cloud of iris powder has fascinated me so much that you must stay with me forever, even if you are so shy.

To put it in normal text, it is a quiet scent that has completely enchanted me. The fragrance is powdery and fluffy, but has a bit of edge and zest from the neroli. In the drydown, the star is undoubtedly the ambrette seed note, which, together with a powder cloud of iris, makes this scent so heavenly spicy and fluffy for me.

I sniff the fragrance every day, even on the days when I don't wear it. I can't help it; the scent is so beautiful.

I would have certainly wished for better performance, but with this fragrance, I made an exception and bought it anyway, so I just spray it very often.
