The single most wearable fragrance I've ever encoutered
It's a unique, fresh, everyday fragrance that reads as masculine (if you believe in gendered frags) without smelling blue, and still being a little sweet. It's not my favorite, but it is by far the one I reach for most often. It's the perfume equivalent of a woman wearing pants-- it would have been defying gender norms like, 50 years ago, but now its probably one of the least polarizing things you could possibly wear.

Best Code ever - my favorite from Armani line.
This is a new release from Giorgio Armani only being sold since a few weeks, and this is a very big surprise for me because I like very much the Code DNA but the eau de toilette had no performance at all and I did not bothered to check the other flankers. There are so many of them like Black Code, Ultimate, Luna, Absolu or Sport. I honestly do not know how they smell and I am not even curious.

The initial spray of this beauty is a burst of mandarin with bergamot so quite citrussy, which gives places to lavender very quick. After a bit of time you feel the sweet Tonka bean and a lot of vanilla, which stays with you for the rest of the day. This is really long lasting and with two sprays you are good to go for the whole day, on the clothes it will stay for days which I really appreciate because one criticism for the last code was that it was not long lasting enough.

This is the best Armani Code to this day in my opinion, I have hoped for such thing many years ago and Armani finally did it. There is another nice Code in the line-up called Absolu, but that one smells more like Layton rather than Code DNA so the “eau de parfum” 2021 is the best Armani Code in my opinion.

This one tempted me 2 weeks ago;
and when I came back, I couldn’t say no... they’re really pushing this one hard at Dillard’s, so expect this one to become one you get wafts of regularly...

It’s got a smoky sweetness to it, and it’s quite intoxicating. I personally don’t get much of the citrus in the opening... it’s actually rather quiet on my skin... not much as far as projection and sillage goes... maybe a soft 2ft radius on the projection diameter, and the trail it leaves is rather discrete... longevity wise, it’s a matter of “perspective”... i.e. if you judge by projection/sillage, longevity is maybe 3-4 hours... however, if you count the total time that it’s perceivable on your skin, it’s an easy 10+ hours...

I personally get an almost rubbery feeling, very smoky, very sweet aroma.... imagine the scent you’d get if someone exploded an M80 in a box of really wet, really sticky Tonka beans... that’s how it hits me... an almost “gunpowder smoke mixed with Tonka/vanilla”... I like it, but it’s very hard to describe...

I’m gonna give it a few more tries, and I’ll try to be back with a more “in depth” description... as of now, however... this is the best I can do... apologies

Update 4/9/2021:
After giving it a few more tries, I’ve noticed that the longevity I personally get is maxing out at about 6 hours or so, and the projection/sillage is a much softer, closer bubble than I originally perceived as well. I still think it’s a great scent; it’s just not a big performer.

The vibe I get from it is a watered down, less sweet, and slightly smokey feeling version of its older brother named Parfumo.

This release was long overdue
Even though I am the first commentator on this fragrance, there is a clear trend emerging: magnificent reviews and exclusively positive statements. I am sure the comments will increase significantly, and the "want to have" list will rise considerably. With this fragrance, Armani may have hit a home run.
My desire for any ordinary flankers of well-known scents is not very high anymore. You rarely get something new, and much of it is just a bit of playfulness. However, with this one, it was clear to me: I have to have it! When I found this on Parfumo under new releases, it immediately went on my wish list. An Eau de Parfum from Code? Long overdue since 2021. In my early 20s, Code was THE fragrance for me. Spray it on - feel good. Without causing much of a stir, yet with a lot of sex appeal and a high cuddle factor. For me, it has always been a special fragrance that I associate with a lot and one of my first great fragrance loves.
The Code line is already huge. Many great flankers are included, but many are standalone and don't have much to do with this beautiful original. The Profumo is already a very powerful performance beast. Many others too. The A-List was still very successful, where one could say that it goes very much in the direction of the original. An option, as the original now seems extremely reformulated to me.

According to the statements, it resembles Code and Code Ultimate. Unfortunately, I could no longer experience the Ultimate, but the similarity to the original is undeniable. Fortunately. I hoped for a fragrance that comes close to this beautiful original, but with decent performance. You get that here. It is not the exact Code as you know it, but I would say there is at least 70-80% similarity. It also reminds me a bit of the Profumo and the Absolu, but significantly milder in execution. You get a nice warm scent for mild to cold temperatures that is definitely more suitable for everyday wear than many of the other flankers. The fragrance is well-balanced with a lot of sweetness, creamy from tonka. A mild spiciness can also be perceived well here. Broadly speaking, you get a modern Code, which never causes too much of a stir. If you expect something revolutionary, you are of course mistaken here. This fragrance is more for the fanbase of Code, which is not small. It definitely has bestseller potential.
The performance is great compared to the struggling Code. Here you get a wonderful companion that never comes on too strong, yet is always noticeable and lasts around 10 hours. Top, and for me, who also likes to wear sweet fragrances in everyday life, it’s a great everyday scent. Also a great choice for the evening. However, for the big wow and special moments in life, it is too ordinary in style. As a feel-good scent, though, it’s one I will gladly wear.

The high ratings will certainly go down, as initially, it has mostly been tested by Code fans. Nevertheless, especially thanks to its great performance, it is the best Code for me. Fans of the original should definitely keep this on their radar.

The "Code for Well-Being"
When the first Armani Code was released, it was one of those fragrances that had an unmistakable and wonderful DNA for me.
When you smelled this DNA, you immediately knew it was Armani Code.
Worn and loved by many men (including me!!!), it did have slight weaknesses in the H/S back then...
But what you got after some time following the release, and still get today, was and is a disgrace.
A -it seems to me- reformulated Armani Code, which vanished after about 3 hours and was not noticed by anyone, not even by me as the wearer...
That’s why it was high time for this great fragrance and this wonderful DNA to get a new edition without any additional names like "Profumo," "Absolu," etc., because none of those flankers really appealed to me.
Overall, I just wanted my old Armani Code back, which I now even have improved! *__*
I would like to explain this to you here and try to describe the scent:

It starts with a beautiful combination of mandarin and lemon. I do not perceive the bergamot. Right away, there comes a certain "freshness" or "cleanliness," which clearly includes the heart notes of lavender and rosemary and harmonizes brilliantly.
Then it transitions into the base notes and becomes -unlike the original Code- deeper, more mature, and very sensual!
Here, the tonka bean and vanilla play the main role in an ideally balanced ratio, giving the fragrance a serious and profound existence.
What I find so great about this "new old" Code is that it holds onto the original DNA, and all individual notes from the top to the base are ALWAYS present, yet allow the other notes to take precedence when it’s their turn. I haven’t experienced that with other fragrances so far.
For me, the Armani Code Eau de Parfum already smells at the beginning like it does at the end, but with the perfectly balanced individual scent notes described above.
Additionally, I have a great longevity of 8-10 hours, depending on the dosage.
It has a pleasant but distinctly noticeable sillage.
Except in summer, I think it can be worn at any time. It always makes a good impression, and you are clearly noticed. (whether in the office, meetings, weddings, clubbing,...)

The "new old" Armani Code is back, but with more power, sensuality, endurance, and seriousness!
I wish for more of this when transitioning from EdT to EdP or perfume, as these are often completely different fragrances and have little to nothing to do with the original DNA and, moreover, are worse in the H/S...

So, gentlemen: The "Code for Well-Being" is back!!!

The opening is good and balanced: aromatic with hints of citrus and vanilla; then a synthetic mess, a sweet powdery nothing. Smells cheap.

I'm sorry to say that - but to me the top smells generic, and the heart smells cheap. Disconcerting.

First few minutes, the scent is clean, citrusy, with a smooth lavender. Then an almondy tonka blends with the lavender and a dry vanilla.

If they mixing the reformulated Code and Code Profumo - and there it is! Still nothing to do with original Code from 2004...just ethylmaltol

Luv it! Similar to CH's 212 Sexy Men but even better

Fresh citrus opening on aromatic lavender + vanilla, citrus fading to a leathery woody base. More aromatic, less vanillic Le Male Le Parfum.

I love it. Still good refreshing spice. More fluffy and powdery texture than EDT. It's also sweeter than EDT, but in a very elegant way.

Nothing challenging, but interesting nonetheless. If I smelled this on the street, I'd definitely look around to see who was wearing it.
