Masculine Masterpiece
This opens up as somewhat of a fresh, spicy and fairly sweet orange, due to the mandarin orange, pink pepper, and nutmeg in the top (there is birch that I don't detect at the moment), and the vetiver in the heart is already making itself known. After 10 minutes or so, the spiciness begins to tone down, leaving a hint of the sweet mandarin orange (though definitely on its way out), while the freshness of the vetiver remains and the earthiness of the patchouli sneaks in. I think the patchouli carries a sweetness to it as well which keeps the fragrance slightly sweet, even after the mandarin has gone. There is cedar in the heart that I can't detect at the moment. Perhaps I just need more experience with woody notes...Overall, as the fragrance begins to dry down the scent can be described as a little soapy, and tad bit sweet, and slightly earthy/damp. Very clean and masculine, though subtle. Most definitely gentlemanly. Projection is already becoming a problem (currently 15 minutes into a decent spray on my hand. I can smell it from a max distance of 6 inches away...though more sprays on warmer areas tend to let it project a little better). After almost 30 minutes, I believe we make it to the base notes, which are allegedly musk and incense. I detect no musk yet, but I do get a slight smokiness from the incense. It makes this thing even more masculine as it continues to dry down. This scent stays linear in this fashion for a good while. 3 hours in, I clan say that the fragrance is at the end of its projection life (not sure if I'd call good and true projection though; again maybe actually wearing it would change that). I now get what I think is the musk note; if so, it is providing a slightly bitter and sweet element to the fragrance. It isn't off-putting though. It's still a little soapy, but not quite as fresh anymore. Still masculine and pleasant. Almost 12 hours later, I'm sure some has rubbed off in my sleep, but I'm still getting a faint presence: ever so slightly woody (there it is!), and the hint of a sweet soapy-ness. In wearing this one in the warmer weather before, I notice that heat makes it a little powdery, and a little off-putting to my nose. I think I prefer to wear this one in moderate to even cooler temperatures. I'd say it thrives in the spring and fall, and you could even wear it indoors during the winter. I would NOT wear this in the summer heat.

For gentlemen, only
This is a very underrated fragrance that flew (continues to do so) under the radar. Its main issue is the time it was released and its marketing.

Back in 2013, the commercial designer market was all about sweet, fruity, spicy, boozy fragrances, in a trend set by One Million and continued by many (your 212 VIP, Eros, Invictus, etc). There were also Dior Homme and La Nuit in their peak. The niche market was profoundly moved by Aventus and it's overwhelming success.

The market had no interest in all-rounders, clean out of the shower scents. Bleu de Chanel was new to the game, and blue fragrances weren't a thing yet. In fact, Bleu wasn't hyped at all by the masses since it was (and still is) a somewhat likeable, versatile
yet expensive scent. And the fragheads thought it was plain generic.

In that context, Givenchy decided to update its classic Gentleman and released this jewel, Gentlemen Only. I believe the name fits this fragrance perfectly, but it angered fans of the classic, that were expecting a classic masterpiece like their beloved Gentleman. Gentlemen Only wasn't groundbreaking at all, and it certainly didn't appeal to the more mature fans of the original Gentleman. The masses didn't care much for it, either, since it wasn't the scent profile they favoured at the time.

And so it was Gentlemen Only just didn't get much attention. Except by a few of us, that is, that weren't looking for something "trendy" and wanted a fragrance with a bit more personality. Like I said, Gentlemen Only is a protoblueish fragrance, if you will. Comes out fresh, green and a bit sweet, like mandarin tends to be. It's also spicy and woody, with a subtle incense reminiscent of bleu de chanel. There's certain depth here, but not too much, since it remains a rather simple (but not basic) fragrance. It's clean, somewhat sophisticated, correct and elegant on its own way. This doesn't scream for attention, and it doesn't need to. Much like any proper gentleman. Overall, a great everyday fragrance, that works well on pretty much any scenario, except night outs/clubbing since it hasn't the strongest performance in the market and will be overpowered by ambient smells and other fragrances.

When Violet Flowers Bloom
An easy-to-wear spring fragrance, rich in masculine scents, dominated by the scent of pink pepper and violet leaves, really wonderful, but not suitable for hot summer days, and it’s not a summer blue fragrance, the scent of violet and birch leaves gives you the impression that you are in spring as the flowers begin to bloom.

Suitable for men over 40 years of age and above (a sense of dignity). It’s not a youthful fragrance for lively young people.

The performance of the fragrance is somewhat average:
- Longevity: around 4 hours or little more
- Sillage: around 2 hours

The fragrance bottle comes in the famous shape of Givenchy bottles and the liquid comes in a very light violet color to signify violet flowers and spring.

A Modern Perfume for Rainy Days
This is a Wonderful and Lovely fragrance, Fresh, Clean, Refined, Unique, Modern and Complex. It is suitable for Rainy Days. A good perfume can change your mood and I must tell you honestly that I really enjoy it. When this scent develops on skin and its smell changes over time. It opens up with like fresh spicy , slightly sweet, spices and floral notes in the background then dry down is a bit smoky musky woody. The Pink Pepper , Violet Leaf and Incense notes are dominant in this perfume. I am glad that I have the chance to buy Givenchy Gentleman Only as It is truly a delightful Hidden Gem that should be talked out more ! Guys do yourselves a favor and at least sample it. Longevity is good, Highly Recommended.
Two Thumbs Up.
Bravo Monsieur Jean Jacques !

Too safe to dislike...
The opening is actually really promising and pleasant - woody and boozy with a slightly sweet zesty mandarin note, very pleasing.

After half an hour I get lots of pepper mixed with a vetiver-y vibe, which turns smokier into something incense-like, but very faintly in the background.
This goes on for another two hours and after three hours, it's basically a skin scent.

Strange thing is that the opening screams "springtime" to me, while the middle phase and drydown are very "fall like" in the mood - and, unfortunately, quite generic. Smells a little like a mix of several popular cheaper fall scents.

IMHO I find it somewhere between "like" and "dislike" - it's not that I'd love to have it, but it's simply too safe to dislike. No reason to fear anyone getting annoyed by this.

Better than its rating suggests, but a missed opportunity. This wavers between generic and great. The problem is it doesn't know what it is.

It´s fine, but nothing special. An expendable flanker in the Gentleman line. It doesn´t stand the comparison with Gentleman EdT and EdP.

Decided to wear this as my Election Day fragrance and I actually really like it. Safe enough for the office and daily wear. New signature?

Perfect NPC scent.
It's pleasant and inoffensive, but ultimately very neutral and doesn't stand out in any way.
