If only the Ylang would not be...
Hello you fanatical fragrance sniffers! Here I am again, with a new fragrance at the start! This time a fragrance from Gucci... namely Flora Gorgeous Magnolia. So, you can imagine that I of course have no idea what magnolias are and especially how they look, let alone smell... but smart as I am, I first looked at the label of the bottle, because sometimes you can see on it, after what the fragrance should just smell. Good, right? NOT AT ALL!

Because next to the fragrance were other fragrances from Gucci, namely Flora Gorgeous Gardenia and Flora Gorgeous Jasmine... and you know what? All three fragrances have exactly the same label!!! Only the name is different (and the bottle color), but otherwise?.... Really great! Gorgeous Gardenia... what are gardenias now? Can I hang them on my windows or am I just confusing them with curtains? AAAAAAARGHRGHGRHG!!!

So I quickly checked online and yes, those pink flowers that take up a large part of the label are indeed magnolias! But why are they on the other fragrances? Shouldn't the other flowers have been in the foreground there? Like jasmine? Or those drapes?.. I meant gardenias, of course... :D

Anyway, the bottles look pretty nice in their pastel colors and labels, so I grabbed one of those and sprayed it on me. Soo,... and thus follows my fragrance report!

The fragrance:
The fragrance starts off quite sweet and fruity. The beginning reminds me of something, but what I just do not come up with. But can also be that it reminds me of some candy :)
Anyway, it smells nice, you can smell well the berries, the coconut is a little more in the background.
A little later you can notice the jasmine with its nice floral sweetness. This makes the fragrance even sweeter at first. Just a little later, however, the fragrance emits a scent that I haven't had under my nose for a long time, but can never forget this scent because I absolutely can't stand it: Ylang-Ylang.
Boah, Ylang-Ylang has a very distinctive and fierce scent that comes across opulent and for me also sultry and I actually want to run away, but unfortunately I can not, because the fragrance is on my arm. And indeed on the COMPLETE arm, so that I can describe him yes as accurately as possible, uffffff!
If now "somewhere" in the fragrance magnolias should smell (as I said, I have no idea how these flowers smell), then they probably go a little under, because ylang-ylang for me here is the main fragrance note and places itself above all other fragrances, which I personally find very unfortunate, because it so for me the fragrance somewhat broken.
In the base, you can still smell very strong radiating ylang-ylang, in addition comes through every now and then a quite opulent, further sweetness. A little patchouli reinforces the opulent impression of the fragrance a little and makes it a bit more tart. Musk and these light woods, well, I think I would not have come up with it if it were not here in the fragrance list.
Only in the later base, the strong ylang-ylang scent finally weakens, so that now many other fragrance notes, mainly sweet scents, are again better smellable. Thus, the late base is much nicer again, especially when the fragrance then also becomes slightly more powdery and at some point the great musk can also be smelled. All in all, a fragrance that is quite okay, but does not appeal to me so much because of the ylang-ylang.

The sillage and the durability:
The sillage is strong, although not overwhelming, but abundantly sprayed on one is certainly so some hours very well perceptible. The shelf life is also very good with over 10 hours!

The flacon:
The bottle is rectangular and narrows up towards the neck, on which the cylindrical and golden lid attaches. The purple shade in pastel colors looks beautiful and also fits the theme of the fragrance. On the label you can see a drawing of various plants, of which the magnolias stand out and the whole thing is very nicely done. All in all, a very nice bottle.

@!Conclusion:*
Soo, first of all, I should clarify one thing: Namely that my fragrance report, like any other test of mine, is purely subjective. And because I now times Ylang-Ylang soas of can not stand, I like the fragrance personally on the whole not so much.

I believe, however, that he could like most of you ladies quite well. Because he is not trivial or 0815-floral and also has many beautiful, sweetish fragrance notes to offer, although this could possibly even appear to some as too sweet.
He also radiates well, lasts a long time and you smell also not so much synthetic out.
Scent-wise, the fragrance is almost an all-rounder, but on too hot days I would not use it, as it could act genuinely suffocating and stifling.

You could use him well in the spare time, maybe even to go out, only then do not come too close to me with it, he he :D

Well, that's it again from me. Hm,... I still do not know now, how magnolias smell so, but what the heck, until the next time I have even forgotten for sure again, how they looked at all!
I wish you all a nice evening, until next time then :)

Good easy reach daily scent
I did not like the original Gucci Flora or Gorgeous Gardenia, but I do like Gorgeous Jasmine. I've also been on a hunt to find magnolia focused fragrances that work for me, so while I admittedly did not need another coconut fragrance, I ultimately couldn't resist trying this and purchased a 30 ml bottle after testing it a few times in store. It's a newer addition (a month or so) in my collection so these are really all first impressions:

1. Unique? No. But it is however good at what it sets out to be and I don't believe every perfume has to be some olfactory masterpiece. Easy, pretty, light, feminine. Great daily scent for places like work, bed or even just to feel clean.
2. The longevity is good and I get about 5 hours of wear but I find this is a very intimate fragrance that sits very close to the skin. I'm also fine with this because I'm not someone who thinks every perfume has to be in beast mode.
3. This is a very creamy almost waxy smell. I wouldn't say it quite crosses the line into wax soap territory but there is a hint towards it in the notes. This makes sense given it's a Magnolia centered fragrance. Even with the berry and coconut, I personally do not think it leans particularly tropical and the magnolia is still the primary center focus of this fragrance.
4. Because it is so light, it struggles a bit more in the cool mornings so I think this may be one that comes more to life much more in the spring and summer but it could still totally be worn year round if you just want a skin scent.
5. I really like the way Gucci does patchouli. It's not a dirty patchouli at all and in this blend really helps ground the fragrance in a pleasant way.
6. I know it is the juice that matters most, but I really love this bottle and the atomizer on this line. Gucci did a stellar job on the packaging.

Good scent and excited to really see how this performs in warmer months. If I continue to like my small bottle this much, it may be worth investing in a larger bottle when I run out.

Eta: Updating my rating as this perfume has been absolutely beautiful the past few spring months. I stand by it being a good easy reach, daily scent but I've come to really love it. Wearing it alongside the blooming magnolias in my city has been truly a delight.

Another designer perfume in an oversaturated market
Received this as a sampler with a Sephora purchase way back before it was annonced, forgot about it for awhile and now here I am ready, to test it!

I'm going to say it: it smells like baby powder. Floral, slightly fruity, yes, but baby powder above all else. And it's not something I want to wear during the day. I'm already not a great fan of powdery perfumes, so this was already a no to me, but my colleagues told me it had a baby powder scent and that was an even more immediate turn-off. There's clearly a Gorgeous DNA going on here (I smelled Gorgeous Jasmine before and I was reminded a bit of it in this scent). Blackberry was the strongest contender in the top notes with its fruity and tart accord. Flowers sort of blended in a non-descript way, giving everything a powdery accord that ended up overwhelming everything. There's also an adjacent plasticky, almost Play-Doh scent that came up when I pulled my nose right up to my skin, but it's not detectable when I'm at a reasonable distance. Everything ends up drying down to this earthy, warm scent, a welcome contribution from the three bottom notes. I feel like this perfume could've been better blended as the notes and accords do seem to clash a bit during its time on my skin, but I can't clearly pinpoint what should've been done differently.

Overall the perfume isn't bad, it might even be good for those who love floral, powdery scents, but to my nose it isn't amazing enough to add to my collection. I also have the feeling I have already smelled something similar before and I can't seem to put my finger on the name of the perfume. Anyways, I'm just saying that if you do have a floral powdery perfume in your arsenal, you don't really need this one, except if you really love the Gucci Gorgeous line. It's a fine feminine-leaning perfume, but nothing amazing or unique.

A powdery floral perfume that's reminiscent of baby powder. Nothing amazing or unique for a designer perfume in this oversaturated market.

Sweet-creamy floral with a tiny tart berry on top. Tons of jasmin-ylang-coconut taking it in the same direction as recent Alien flankers

On me this is a sunny fruitchouli. Nice but not very unique. The color of the bottle doesn't suit this scent, a warm colour would be better.

Gucci Flora Gorgeous Magnolia ranked in at #3 for me conducting a 23-card scent test. It feels like I'm in love with a man, and he hugs me.
