The Gucci family has welcomed a new member, just in time for autumn/winter, when hopefully it will be cool again on the shelves. First of all, it should be said that this is an absolutely intense and overwhelming scent.
The opening with bitter almond is reminiscent of marzipan and slightly fruity. But then it gets serious. Spicy and herbaceous with patchouli and slightly floral with the roses, which smell a bit musty and autumnal. As if you were smelling a bouquet of roses that was placed on the cemetery for All Souls' Day in December. Morbid charm for those who like it that way. To me, the scent now smells a bit off.
But then it continues intensely. Coffee dominates heavily, but not freshly brewed; rather, it’s the scent that wafts into your car on the A1 in Bremen. When the wind comes from a well-known coffee roastery. This typical scent of the area now mixes with the morbid, slightly sour opening. A powerful blend that will surely find its admirers, especially since it also includes the currently trendy vanilla. But not the stuff from the baking aisle, rather a strong, room-filling vanilla supported by tonka.
For those who love intense oriental fragrances and want to make a statement with the motto "Stand out at any cost," this scent is a good fit. For me, it’s a bit too much of everything and too disharmonious. I prefer subtler orientals in winter.
Now for the longevity. Today is Wednesday, and I wore the scent on Sunday. The scent is still present on my skin and surrounds me. And it was just a tiny drop. Fortunately, the musty notes are gone, and only patchouli with vanilla remains. But still, it feels too clingy for me.
