Earthy violets, for cold weather only

First impression when I tried the sample in summer: the patchouli basically punched me in the face straight out of the bottle :D Then it turned sour, somehow. Sour violets? Is that even a thing? I tried many Heretic fragrances, and this is the first one that did not really work for me. Or so I thought...

I let my sample sit for a few months, and then I tried it a couple more times. It works much better with my skin on a cold rainy day, I get the earthiness and no sourness. I finally get the appeal!

Don't quite understand why this scent is part of Heretic's "Beach Goth" summer collection.

Powdered Violets

Immediate impression: powdery violet leaf and patchouli, a hint of clean leather and incense. Interestingly, I never picked up on the rose, jasmine, or earthier notes (all of which normally dominate my nose).

Although Heretic indicates a progression of notes, the scent is fairly linear. If you like what you smell at the beginning, you’ll probably enjoy it for the entire 6-7 hours that it lasts.

It’s pleasant in a tame, classic sort of way: velvety soft, feminine coded, easy to wear, not too sweet or too loud, without any sharp edges.

Final verdict: enjoyable but not special enough to be full bottle worthy (sorry Violet Chachki, love you forever!)

Chic, powdery surface like peach fuzz. The green slowly fades and the scent becomes extremely sweet. It could definitely be a trendy fragrance.
