Lovely dusty
A rather masculine, dusty iris here, reminding me strongly of that in Prada (L'Homme L'Eau).
The opening releases no violet like scent - this is orris, the rhyzome, not the frangrance of the flower one can detect, and it's very intense. It is therefore a little dry, and sweet, settling rapidly into a delicate, a tad sugary suede note thanks to the hawthorn.
The heart warms gently with a feeble, yet identifiable resin and cedar note. They are very subtle, but perceptible, and very nicely balanced.
The drydown is soft, a cozy and sweet affair.
Overall, this is a very nice fragrance, but nothing new or exciting. The work here is all about fire and earth notes, hence the masculine tone. Unisex, tending to the masculine, I see this as being very versatile.
It's a like but not a love from me - someone more into feminine leaning scents. In any case, a decent 7 out of 10 worth a try and the penny.
