salt on your skin
a tall, brunette woman emerging from the sea after her morning bath,

women's skin with a familiar spicy-sweet undertone.
the salty water beads down her,
a cool breeze makes her pleasantly shiver,

her white dress smells of wood and grasses, faintly also of algae.....

the blood pulses warm beneath the refreshed skin.
today, everything could go right for her....

the salty-fresh accord lingers for hours over the spicy bloom
just as the lungs remain free after a long walk by the sea

Opposites Attract
It was a gray, windy, and overcast November morning at the coast. He stepped out of the warmth of the house to take his daily walk on the nearby beach.

The cold wind smelled fresh and the air slightly salty. Yes, he loved being blown by the wind, watching the dancing spray on the sea, and clearing his head and gaze. The lozenges he liked so much, which accompanied him on all his walks, perfectly complemented the scents, as they tasted pleasantly citrusy. Not scratchy, but rather soft and soothing.

So he continued on, content with himself and the world, for a while longer before making his way home.

Upon entering the house, he was greeted by a cozy warmth. In the air was a fine suede scent emanating from his leather jacket hanging in the wardrobe. He loved this fine and noble smell, which he would simply describe as exquisite.

As after every walk, he now craved a fresh and hot coffee. In the kitchen, there was still a wonderful aroma of a potpourri of iris, vanilla, and woods that stood on the windowsill. The heater below had warmed it slightly, causing delicate scent tendrils to waft into the room.

With his fresh coffee, he settled into one of the kitchen chairs, looked contentedly out the window into the November day, and enjoyed the moment and the soothing scents around him.

If he could stop time, he would want to press the corresponding button right now.

**

Anyone who knows me a little knows that I really like the sea, the water, and the coastal wind. It doesn't have to be exclusively the rather calm Mediterranean; the North and Baltic Seas are just as welcome to me. Somehow, I must be a "Northern Light" after all ;-)

But regardless, the new fragrance from Keiko Mecheri, "Embruns" ("Spray"), has at least captured me by storm and inspired me to write this story in my virtual book. A story that fits me, my ideas, and preferences like the proverbial glove to the eye.

From the very first moment, "Embruns" touched and fascinated me because it speaks to many sides of me and appears very multifaceted.
It starts unexpectedly "fresh" (but not herbal or scratchy), only to gradually take on a more tender character without becoming completely sweet.
The roasted tonka beans are stripped of part of their sweetness due to the roasting process, which is genius because it creates a "roasted sweetness" that appears very mature and serious.

All in all, "Embruns" is an absolute hit for me because it unites feminine and masculine aspects, heaviness and lightness, and darkness and light, presenting an unexcited and effortless elegance that you don't find on every corner.

For me personally, "Embruns" is one of the best of all Mecheri fragrances, which is why it absolutely has to find a place in my collection.

No sea. Warm-spicy sweet wood scent. Sun-warmed, moist skin at the mossy needle forest lake beach. Soothing.

A fresh, cool sea breeze meets a warm wooden cabin in the woods. Relaxing in a silky sandalwood bath. Dark + cozy spice.

Woody and spicy Yes, but rather very sweet, very harmonious, without edges or corners. No trace of Hinoki etc. unfortunately.

After a heavy rain, the water sparkles in the sunlight, the wet asphalt steams. Mineral-woody spiciness. Amazing!

A shy essence needs time to reveal its full beauty. Delicate woody, citrusy. Cool sandstorm.
Wonderfully underrated.

Pure understatement. Always present, but never intrusive. High comfort factor. For moments you want to enjoy for yourself... without much perfume!

Off to the South - an elegant, harmonious aquatic that doesn’t want to clash and is very pleasing; unfortunately, the longevity is quite limited.

Ocean sounds & waves, but silky, mystical & elegant. The milky-maritime "sandalwood base" is addictive. Fantastic!
