Scent of my memories
After several wearings of this fragrance, it's time to leave a comment on this one, I will be free to state - beautiful complexed perfume.
The first impression: the scent of a forest after a huge rain, enhanced by various flowers. The scent that returns me to the mountain of my country of origin, Fruska Gora, in early spring, teleporting me to very first flowers growing in this forest in the springtime. This is all that the perfume is connecting to the earth, everything else is close to the sky.
For the citruses, there is somewhat difficult to penetrate through the curtain of a flower bouquet that Ume carries within itself. They are not strong enough to fully absorb the rainy-mossy texture of the fragrance but they definitely give the all-rounder of joy after a heavy rain. There is no ozone in it, it does not have it all, but it all leads to the feeling of the ozone to it, even though the perfume is not light and aerial.
I would not recommend it for summer, there are also cheaper and more summery perfumes. Its time comes in Spring and Fall. Because of the plum yam in it that is set to be its most noticeable note which comes after the flowery/rainy opening ... It's a relaxed, really cool, excellent blended fragrance that is worth to have in the collection.
Warm recommendation to lovers of plum and osmanthus, a recommendation to those who want to smell marvellous, long, primordial and not offensive to others.

The Gion Kobu Kaburenjo Theater comes to life in scent..........
UME by Keiko Mecheri

On my skin, Ume is magnificent. It has the distinct air of sensually glamorous far eastern elegance and brings to mind Gion Kobu Maiko and Geiko magnificently attired in full performance kimono, dancing at the Kaburenjo theater at Miyako Odori spring festival.

A resplendently golden fruity opening unfolds with streams of zesty bergamot and sparkling mandarin followed by an entrance of succulently rich and deep plum. A glorious showering of luxuriantly spicy osmanthus petals then come showering joyously down across everything, covering it all in a nutty-apricot-tea-like velvet haze. A few delicate wisteria blossom strands flutter back and forth through the intoxicating mist, wafting tantalizing nuances of lilacs and cloves. A subtle splash of jasmine petals and freshly gathered patchouli provide an added element of refined sensuality. The magnificently blended moistly-crisp oakmoss is layed seamlessly atop an impeccably-clean and fresh-woody-cypress astringency which is distinctly of the Japanese hinoki variety, while the deep warmth of mahogany provides a flawlessly rich base. Rather like the sturdily elegant wooden stage boards of the Kaburenjo theater provide the perfect support for the exquisite splendor of the geisha performance above them.

I sense the glittering silk screen byobu backdrop of the Kaburenjo stage, the swishing silks of the ancient style hikizuri kimono, the fluttering long sleeves of the young maiko, the faultless finish of the powdered geisha makeup like early morning sunlight on a white cloud, the jeweled black eyes gazing serenely out above tiny cupid-bowed crimson blood red lips, lacquered raven black hair coiffed elaborately with priceless handcarved jade and silken floral ornaments nestled firmly within, effortlessly assuming positions of intense yet restrained expressiveness. The crowds immersed …watching in rapture…applauding their favorite performers. The scent of joyful fruity flowers, and silk, and woods, and delicate spices entwined throughout.

All this adoration, and usually I do not like chypre. I just love this one. Like the Gion Kobu geisha, famous for their unwavering and impeccable courtesy and grace, their sensual elegance, and their tremendously refined artistic demeanor…. this one has completely entranced me.

Domo arigato gozaimasu and okini to Keiko Mecheri-san.

Umeshu Goes Straight to My Head
This is so sweet and heady, I became unable to think for several minutes after application. Umè is true to its name a sweet plum liquor that reminds me of the golden hued Umeshu beverage Choya that has a little salted/pickled plum in the bottom of the glass bottle. The contrast between the intense sweetness and the pickled fruit balancing perfectly. Here the woody oakmoss and subtle spiciness of the base help to take the edge off of the syrupy sweet boozy plum, but still I think of this creation more as an art piece than a wearable scent. It wears you and you are its drunken fool, dizzy and wandering aimlessly until the woody earthy base sober you up enough to call a cab. The sillage is decent, about 1 ft. (approximately 30 cm) for the first hour and falling back to 6 inches (approx. 15 cm) for the next 3-4 hours. To me this is pure romantic, seductive evening wear, definitely geared to the sweet plum and osmanthus lovers.

A Rich Plum-Woody Chypre
Keiko Mecheri UME has one of those dangerous fall-in-love-at-the-counter-must-have-this-perfume openings. A gorgeous fruity chypre featuring plum, woods and patchouli. Yum, yum, yum. With a classic chypre texture but a modern chypre scent (no oakmoss or sharp grayness whatsoever), UME is a distant cousin to YVRESSE and DECI DELA. A bit less complex, but still very nice.

I've sampled a number of woody plum perfumes of late, and this is one of the best. The fruit is dark and deep and not very sweet, so I think that some guys might like this as well. UME leans toward the gourmand side but stays closer to a rich woody chypre all the way from opening to drydown. A wonderful wintertime scent!

Nancy
For me, you would be called "Nancy" :(

After elementary school, I went to high school. Starting in 7th grade. A small town away. Bus ride about 45 minutes. Clattered through all the villages... Every day at the same time. Longtime friends since kindergarten, new classmates liked or hated.
In 11th grade, everything changed. Only courses, no class association anymore, and above all, new students came in who transferred from comprehensive schools or secondary schools to high school.
So, gradually, three thick new friendships entered my life.
Number One: Nancy!
She was actually a year above me. She had to repeat a year and thus joined my grade. Same small town, three-quarters of an hour by bus from school. But I had never really noticed her before.
Nancy became my best friend! My soulmate! My sister that I never had. The summer holidays that followed were the best time of my life...
Unfortunately, she had to leave high school after the school year and started an apprenticeship. I graduated (13th grade, Abitur). And then moved further away. But we never lost sight of each other. We met regularly. Best friends, after all.
There are thousands of stories I would love to tell, which enriched my life, my youth... First love, first disco visit, and so on, what we shared together.... I knew everything about you and you knew everything about me...
My true best friend. Puppi and Püppi 4ever!! I can't even describe what was between us....
Well, then one thing led to another. You moved out, to a neighboring town, your first own apartment. Through you, I met my future new boyfriend. At first, you stood by me. But then the relationship got worse and worse, on-off.
He was dangerous, unpredictable. So often I cried to you, so often he terrorized your apartment, wrecked my parents' car, you called the cops... so often he threatened us... You wanted to offer me protection.... and what did I do?
I kept running back to him again and again... I let you down.... why?? Hm.. because I was blind with love?... I don't know.... I don't even understand how I could be so stupid...
You then apparently sought support elsewhere....
Then came the day when I wanted to cut my visit, which lasted several days, short again and go to him. You must have finally lost your patience.... You said if I left now, our friendship would be over, forever..... I thought she was just talking... She must understand love and would calm down soon....
But she didn't! She remained as stubborn as I was this time.... and we haven't spoken since that day, 2012...
The relationship was doomed to fail anyway, leaving a lot in me dead... But the worst part was that I lost you, Nancy....!
Nothing can change that now. Okay...
Even if you probably never read this... this is your scent for me!
I immediately thought of you, even though I probably haven't seen you for 4 years....
I still remember how we secretly smoked together, chatted online with strangers, skipped school to go eat ice cream or got piercings, walked to the lake at night to swim, dyed our hair pink spontaneously, and went to driving school together, first driving lesson where you drove onto the island of a roundabout and the police happened to show up....
You picked up your little cat from the animal shelter and I named him. And so much more...

Yes dear Nancy! I haven't forgotten anything...
This scent is my scent for you!
It smells like your old childhood room, where mostly freshly washed laundry hung, paired with the perfume you always wore, the cigar smell of your stepfather, and the big "Feigling" bottle we bought at the gas station at night...
Smelling of plum / Feigling schnapps with a lot of sweet, refreshing notes that inspire one to experience adventures... of cocktails in O-burg, village festivals, and countless evenings in your apartment.... and of the summer of our lives....

Maybe you'll think of me again someday!!!
Beautiful scent....
Beautiful memories...

Oh how lovely. Plum wine and almond paste. Smooth-sweet-sour and beautifully spicy. Color: reddish-brown orange. Perfect for autumn.

Plum liqueur with sour rose. Spiced with cinnamon + clove. Slightly soapy. With warm almond flakes + retro vibes. Not for me. Ugh!

A beautiful and not overly sweet gourmand.
Powdery plum jam with subtle floral notes.
Balanced and not too intrusive.

It smells like plum liqueur, sweet and comforting. A slightly bitter rose with green leaves provides balance.

If Parure is the matriarch of the plum chypre clan, then Umé is her granddaughter. Plum wine meets rose & patchouli. Absolutely gorgeous!

For my nose, it's consistently a liqueur scent. Plum liqueur. A delicate chypre accord is perceptible in the base. Subtle, warm, soft, tart sweetness.

Keiko Mecheri......an experience in understated elegance
I have the DAMASCENA and the MOGADOR. I prefer the MOGADOR's rich rosy low-sweet goodness on my skin. The DAMASCENA is a lovely fruity rose, but I prefer Diptyque's Eau Rose for that.
