Unfinished composition?
I do like it, and I like that I can easily detect all the notes listed. It's yummy, soft, comforting. And yet I feel like there is something missing from this fragrance, I'm just not quite sure what, exactly. I've worn the EDP and the "just a drop" gel parfum, and in both cases I was left with the same impression. "Nice, but..." But what? Hmmm.

And then I wore it with my man.
At first he had this inquisitive, slightly puzzled reaction, but he kept sniffing me so I thought he liked it. Except his facial expression didn't exactly reflect that, lol.
So I asked him.
He said "This is really weird. Your perfume. Smells nice but it's like it can't decide weather to be sexy or yummy, and it sure as hell can't pull off both at the same time"

And there, you have it. It's a nice beginning but it's missing some ingredients to complete the recipe. Perhaps if the musk was animalic instead of white, it would give it more depth, more oomph? Who knows. But when I wear it, it's like I'm stepping out in my favorite outfit... and I forgot to put on my shoes.

Sultry Flower
The gorgeous, sultry, sexy sister of Kenzo Flower, Flower Parfum (In some reviews this is called Flower Red, for the red bottle) she comes out at night after having bathed in almond scented bath oil, nibbling marzipan so that her skin exudes a heavenly nutty scent, her breath is satin and so so voluptuous and enveloping. Touch her and touch oil of darkest reddest roses and musk. Wait with her and amber and iris come out to play. Flower is pretty, gorgeous, complicated and sweet. But oh my god Flower Parfum is so much more, it promises and it delivers. It doesn't just tease. It's tactile, overtly sexual. You would wear this for a soul moment, a deeply intimate encounter - after Flower has been tucked up in bed and kissed off to sleep hours ago.

Flower with A Smidgen of Hypnotic Poison
Flower Le Parfum opens with the incense-like sharpness as the original Flower. For the first hours, I can detect a slight play-doh scent due to vanilla + almond. At this stage it's like hiding Hypnotic Poison under the signature sharpness of Flower. Towards the drydown, it smells very close to the original to my nose, just more intensive and a little warmer due to the presence of amber.

The original Flower is "ghostly", always there but never in a solid form. However, Flower le Parfum, though more intense, is still "ghostly" IMO. Although I love Flower, thus love Flower le Parfum, I have to admit that these two are too similar to own both, unless you're a die-hard fan or you got a bargain.

Cuddle Fragrance
First of all, many thanks to all the perfume lovers here who introduced me to my absolute cuddle fragrance. Since it is hardly available in perfumery stores anymore, I had to buy it online as a blind purchase - and I do not regret it!

Kenzo..Flower..hm.
I remember that about 4 years ago, I naively sprayed myself with the "Flower eau de Parfum" - believing that the bottle with my favorite flower on it would contain something beautiful. That was my last encounter with Kenzo for many years, because anyone who does such nonsense surely cannot create anything good...
I do not understand why this Le Parfum was included in the "Flower" line. Fortunately, it bears no resemblance to its little sisters at all.

Flower Le Parfum is straightforward; after a maximum of 5 minutes, you know what you will get for the next 9-10 hours: a fluffy, not too sweet vanilla-almond dream, powdery but not suffocatingly powdery...present and easily noticeable, but not overwhelming. It never annoys, nor does it bother its wearer. It is like a fine cashmere scarf, somehow cozy and enveloping. Not spectacular, not extravagant, but simple and beautiful.
It is the only perfume in my collection from which some men wrote down the name to gift it to their wives.

For 2 years, it has been my absolute favorite for autumn-winter...and the only perfume that I almost panicked and repurchased on the same day the first bottle was empty - and that says a lot.
It is so "me" - it fits me like a glove: not too sweet, not exactly loud, but always with a bit of pepper in the... ;).

The longevity is enormous - since it is a Le Parfum, it is highly concentrated and easily lasts 12 hours, even longer on clothing.

For me, it is the perfect balance of (not too suffocating) powderiness, not too sweet vanilla, and roasted almonds - garnished with a spicy kick of pepper that fortunately keeps this creation from drifting into carnival sweetness.

Masterpiece. May it remain with all lovers for a long time - and especially with me ;).

Much Too Sensitive for This World
Recently, I used up the last drops of Eve and said goodbye to a fragrance that I had expected would grant me the qualities of those women for whom it was apparently created. This naive "reverse conclusion" obviously did not work. Now, I have come across another, much more well-known classic: FLOWERBYKENZO Le Parfum.

This fragrance had also faded from my memory, and I feared I would experience disappointment here as well. However, Flower pleasantly surprised me. I hadn't imagined the scent to be this enjoyable. I feel immediately surrounded by a floral-powdery cloud. No, it's more like a little cloud. Because the fragrance is light, buoyant, sweet, and tender. There are no significant transformations in the scent's progression. But that's okay. Because Flower "has something," from the very beginning.

What makes this Kenzo special is that, while it is undoubtedly an everybody's darling, it is still not an ordinary floral scent, like so many others. It has its typical signature. This begins with the strong presence of almond right from the start, followed by "powdery notes," as beautifully stated in the fragrance notes. I think of iris.

The scent is very harmoniously balanced between gourmand notes like almond and vanilla and the delicate roses and violets. Musk and amber round it off sweetly.
Flower is very pleasing. I find it to be a cozy fragrance that makes me feel comfortable right away and suits me. Not always, but certainly more than some others.

Flower owes its success not to the then-omnipresent, appealing advertising but to Kenzo's ability to reinvent a lovely floral scent, so to speak. In my opinion, the secret lies in the once-trendy almond note, which gives the fragrance a soft, marzipan-like quality that sometimes reminds me of another famous powdery scent, namely LouLou by Cacharel.

The elegantly curved bottle in matte, metallic dark red is original and has a high recognition value, but it also has two flaws: I have the smaller 50-ml version, which - as aesthetic as it is - cannot be easily carried in a handbag due to its considerable weight and slender height. Additionally, the bottle is opaque. This means it may protect the perfume well from the sun and other influences that could negatively affect it, but unfortunately, you cannot see how much is still left. The fact that it is not very suitable for carrying in a handbag can be overlooked to some extent because the longevity is truly - at least on my skin - remarkable. Unfortunately, that is not too common. Applied in the afternoon, I wondered upon waking what smelled so wonderful...

Flower by Kenzo Le Parfum was my first fragrance from the vast never-ending Flower series. Later, two Kenzo FlowerTags joined it - but that's another story. Just one thing upfront: None of them has this softness, creaminess like Flower by Kenzo Le Parfum.

It doesn't happen often that a fragrance I bought several years ago still appeals to me today. In this case, it does - a sign of its excellent quality. Nevertheless, Flower by Kenzo Le Parfum seems to no longer be available today - except perhaps on eBay at astronomical prices. What a pity. But Kenzo apparently relies on fast fashion like a true Japanese brand. The numerous flankers, however, often have little to nothing left of the original, except for the name. And the trademark - the poppy flower. It can also be found on the metallic bottle - stylishly tone-on-tone, only subtly hinted at, but still recognizable. I love poppies. They have wonderful colors and are enviably photogenic. But they don’t smell. I have never encountered a fragrant poppy flower. I have always wondered how a scentless flower could become the trademark of a perfume.

I would say that Flower by Kenzo Le Parfum is no longer a "modern" fragrance today. Much has changed in the world of scents since then. I probably wouldn’t repurchase it now, but I still find it graceful, almost romantic, and very feminine. No, almost girl-like. Somehow much too sensitive for this world...

Creme Brulee topped with candied violets, finely powdered and softly musky, ladylike and never overwhelming due to the delicate sweetness.

The almondy powdery musk cloud with vanilla is very delicate. Almost gourmand and reminds me of poppy seed strudel with bitter almond.

If you love the original Flower, you should try this! Wonderful, noble, elegant "evening version," a bit powdery but definitely related!

Almonds, marzipan, and powder, rounded off with vanilla-musk. A sweet comforter par excellence. So beautiful. Why was it discontinued?

Mom always treated herself to an extra spritz; Dad fled outside. As a representative of the chip faction, almond marzipan is not the bomb.
