L'Eau par Kenzo pour Homme Kenzo 1999 Eau de Toilette

This is gorgeous! One of the best fresh/aquatic scents that i've ever had and smelled. And yes, smells like Sprite sometimes.

Great combination of lime, yuzu and mint.

It's clean, fresh and crisp. If this had more lasting power, it would me one of my top ten fragrances. Worth it.

Despite being over 20 years old it still one of the best designers ive ever smelt, i was thinking that kenzo was bad after smelling kenzo homme but this fragrance returned hope in my soul. It starts as fresh, cold, mint and citrus fragrance, then it goes to beautiful crisp and aquatic lotus, and dries down as fresh musky base, making fresh out of shower vibes. If you want good freshie for gym/school/work this is definetely for you, safe blind buy.

I have a little nice 30ml bottle from the first batches from the 90s (rounder bottle, kanji on the box), so it may differ a little from the newer versions.

This one opens with some fresh, to my nose not so much citric or acquatic notes, more so ozonic , that really opens up your nose, then almost instantly after come some flowery notes, that almost remind me of some neutral shampoo. This facet is the one that I notice more through my wears.

And later as it dries down comes some soft clean musk, that to me almost imitates the scent or feeling of drying down with a towel or cloth.

The duration is not the best as some comments say, I get about 4 hours but the musky side really last a lot as in I get whiffs of through the day when I do wear it. The projection though I consider it to be somewhat on the more than moderate side for at least 30-1 hour.

As my title says, I feel like this doesnt smell clean or soapy per se, but it emulates the feeling/ smell of coming out of a nice spa or shower and smelling nice and cozy.

Would reccomend as a nice unique daily driver, as this DNA is somewhat unique with the oversaturation of blues/ Aventus clones

This one was one of my first. The one I tested, bought, and wore with joy throughout a wonderful summer. And I still remember thinking: this one, I will definitely always have! Summer passed, and although it wasn't even half empty - if at all - the bottle, which reminded me of a half-melted ice cube - 'How cool is that?' I thought back then - gradually moved to the back of the shelf. Others came, others went. I clung to some, others were just a fling, and some - none from those early fragrant years - have remained. Until today, and I find that beautiful.

In kindergarten or elementary school, we make our first friendships, perhaps just because we live on the same street or both like Lego, but these first friends rarely last, even if we might think: BFF! Later, deeper friendships come along, and eventually relationships - and sooner or later, also bitter disappointment and betrayal. And yet we keep thinking: this is forever! And then we end up crying ourselves to sleep or have - intentionally or carelessly - made someone else cry. And yet we believe again: Now for sure! Forever!

Now, losing a perfume is of course far less distressing than losing a person, but to like a scent so much that I want to own it, I want to believe at the moment of purchase: if not forever, then at least for quite a while! That’s pretty silly, as I have experienced many times that this doesn’t work out. But just as there have indeed been people for whom 'until tomorrow morning' was enough to simply take them home, the same is true for perfumes. We all have them, it’s not a big deal. But those we believe in are more fun.

L'Eau par Kenzo pour Homme is nothing special as a fragrance. But it was for one summer. For me. Beyond its fruity-sweet triviality, it has something vulnerable that I still find in it today. I smell it, others might not. For many, it’s probably just one of many summer fresheners - aquatic, a bit like shower gel, somewhat disco - that was the 90s! It fundamentally has nothing that one could dislike, and such scents - I know today - are rarely good 'forever'. And yet it was a beautiful, blessed, and long summer with Yuzu, mint, and the others. And that’s not nothing.

Conclusion: basically a terribly forgettable and irrelevant scent. And yet again, not quite.

I’m already doing my Christmas fragrance shopping because I don’t want to get caught up in the hustle and bustle that starts in November.

It just occurred to me that three of my guys from our gentlemen's circle have their birthdays in November.

So I need more of that stuff dreams are made of.

The three candidates are not dissimilar - they were all born under the sign of Scorpio.

Their fragrance preferences are also quite similar - reserved, clear, and often a bit contemplative.

Of course, I could give all three of them the same fragrance, as it’s hardly likely they will visit each other and show off my gifts.

But you never know....

The Scorpio itself is very particular - and it wants to possess something "unique."

My husband is easy to gift, as he firmly insists on the statement shower gel.

But the other two experts are a bit trickier.

So I found the cool, but not too cold, Choo Ice for the police chief and now pondered over my Berlin broker.

A saleswoman appeared out of nowhere and asked me: Do you know Kenzo?
Of course, I know the label.
Hesitantly, I followed her.

Wow - I didn’t know L'éau.

And it greets me fresh but gently.
The lemon invigorates and is not sour - and a mild hint of pepper joins in.
The mint cools the fragrance - and lotus provides a clear transparency.
The cedar wafts lightly smoky above it - and I have the association of a Zen garden.

My Berlin friend will like this, as he enjoys creating images with scents.
We can both do this for hours.

As a frequent traveler, he will surely enjoy the trip to Asia.
