Appetizing powder
A powdery gourmand. It has a lot of acidic fruits in it and it kind of disappointed me, because I was expecting to find the same DNA as the original, but as it happens with a lot of flakers, it did not happen. They do share the same lasting yet not overpowering sillage. Actually, it reminds more of Guerlain's L'Instant Magique (a powdery gem), but more yummy and with an important component of red fruits, raspberry in particular.

instead of Rescue Drops
My husband had another dentist appointment today, and of course, I accompany him in solidarity.

After all, he always holds my hand during such horror events.

Although I had nothing to fear today, I already felt a bit queasy in the waiting room.
I stuck my pale nose into my "wonder handbag" in search of the rescue drops.
But something else fell into my clammy hands - a sample of Flower and a sample of L'elixier.
Flower always goes down well with me - but I also find the Elixir convincing.

Immediately, I am greeted by sweet raspberries, mixed with fine praline - as delicious as the exquisite raspberry truffles from Leonidas.
This treat melts softly in the nose and has an extremely calming effect.
I am inclined to forget the inhospitable surroundings.
The full Bulgarian rose is velvety, emphasized by subtly sweet vanilla.

I may not have found the Bach rescue drops, but the Elixir is also a true "nerve smoother".
My "regular bottle" Flower will also be joined by the Elixir.

The dentist limited himself to issuing a prescription, to then take action fresh on Monday.
L'Elixir will accompany us.

A true love elixir!
For a long, long time I haven't written anything here on Parfumo...
It's because I'm currently having a very hard time, especially due to my mother as she is not really stable health-wise and I am there for her 24/7, which is why I simply haven't had the time to write anymore...
I'm sorry if I haven't responded to questions or messages or if my replies have been very brief...
I will try to make more time for it in the future, as it's not in my nature to ignore messages or questions...
Please don't be mad at me;(...
(Just to clarify: I have already written a text about Kenzo Flower L'Elixir here, but I wasn't satisfied with it as it was very short and also inaccurate regarding the scent description, which I personally dislike!)
Let's get to the main topic, which is perfume:))
Although I haven't been very active here, I have still tested quite a few fragrances/decants whenever I had the time:))
Unfortunately, as far as I know, Kenzo L'Elixir is supposed to be discontinued or it has already been taken out of the range... WHAT A SHAME!
One question:... WHY ARE THE MOST BEAUTIFUL SCENTS ALWAYS DISCONTINUED!!!?;((((((
And that's exactly why I wanted to dedicate a fair and worthy text/review to this magical and beautiful fragrance:)))
Because I have been enchanted and simply in love with this scent for a month now...
Every time it's a true olfactory experience like hardly any other for me!:)
A quick tip from me to you;))
If you're looking for a noble, mature, but also extremely sensual gourmand fragrance that doesn't smell like vanilla pudding, then Kenzo Flower L'Elixir is the best choice!
I'll start with my favorite part, namely the scent description!:DD

The scent.....
Starts off so beautifully with a sweet, juicy, but also sultry raspberry note, which is softened by the mandarin note, giving it a very gentle freshness.
And no, it's not a synthetic, sticky raspberry note!! Let yourself be convinced;))
What I find so interesting about this scent, or better said the scent progression, is that I can smell each individual note so beautifully and precisely.
Normally, it can become very tiring and overwhelming over time, but not with this one at all!
Everything is so harmonious and beautifully balanced that it leaves me in awe every time!
The rose note is so beautifully velvety and subtly powdery on my skin, which I personally really like as it gives the scent progression that sensual powdery touch:)) I really enjoy that!;D
The praline note is soooooooo well done!*.* So creamy and elegant with a slight raspberry cream filling, topped off with a lovely rich dark sultry caramel cream.....
The vanilla note is so warm, sensual, and cuddly at the same time, especially harmonizing beautifully with the rose note:))
You can imagine a plate of exquisite raspberry cream pralines, lavishly sprinkled with rose petals that smell so wonderfully and elegantly*.*
What more could a sweet tooth want?;))
Pure seduction for both women and men;D
I personally think it is a truly beautiful/successful but also very high-quality smelling gourmand fragrance!
I find it goes very much in the direction of Prada Candy BUT it is not a dupe!
Only the scent DNA reminds me a lot of Candy, especially when sprayed on.
The longevity is very, very good! It lasts on my skin until the next day and on clothing, it lasts for days.
Pure love!:D

grounding scent
I have no idea why this scent is received so poorly here. For me, it is a noble, deep floral fragrance with a gourmand twist. But it really does come across as very, very elegant.
I can also smell the typical, powdery Flower by Kenzo violet, even though it is not listed in the fragrance pyramid.
The essences in this case are probably essences. They feel fuller and rounder than simple floral scents.
The rose in l'Elixir smells very dark and full, simply powdery-soft. I don't directly and typically smell orange blossoms. They lack the bright, citrusy cheerfulness in this case.
This scent is rather dark, floral, I would say dignified and also rather calm.
For me, the fragrance consists of a combination of dark red roses with violets, nestled on vanilla absolute. It is also not too sweet. There is nothing sugary here, but rather a subtle sweetness. I find the designation praline in the fragrance pyramid somewhat misleading for l'Elixir.
In the background, there is always a dark green, leaf green note that I must mention. It is wonderful, but only very subtle. It tones down the gourmand character a bit.
If I didn't know better, I would assume that this scent contains orris root and angelica root. Two absolute treasures in the world of fragrances. In my nose, the impression of these two essences combined with bourbon vanilla absolute emerges.
Therefore, I would never even suspect that this scent would smell cheap or flat.

Fruity, it doesn't smell particularly to me. The opening alone smells zesty, but shortly after raspberry and citrus notes. However, it immediately becomes dark and velvety, muted and calm.

This is a scent for a lovely evening, alone or together. An evening that should be a bit quieter. One where you want to focus on yourself or your beloved, without being too distracted by external things. I find it is a grounding scent. A rather intimate, sensual, close-to-skin fragrance that caresses warm skin and has a calming effect. And the scent also quietly fades after eight to nine hours.

The formulation of grounding is interesting in this context, as for me the roots of iris and angelica are at the forefront, which are also rooted in the earth.

A Heavenly Autumn/Winter Fragrance
The Elixir fragrance doesn't exactly enjoy a great reputation here, so I thought I would share my thoughts on it. :)
Today at the perfume store, I was looking for a cozy scent for winter. Sweet, vanilla, Christmas market... You know, what you like when it gets cold. ;) I am good friends with the consultant at the perfume store, and she always shows me great things that I would have otherwise overlooked - like Kenzo L'elixir. A long time ago, I had the very first Kenzo with the red poppy flower, and indeed this perfume has nothing to do with the one here. It's similar to YSL Opium and Black Opium - the two are also not comparable. But well, onto the scent description:
Kenzo L'elixir smells incredibly gourmand, very delicious with sweet vanilla and pralines, but with a pleasantly fruity note. In contrast to LVEB, this scent feels much rounder to me and not so synthetic-piercing, but rather cozy and snuggly. The longevity is insane - I've been wearing just one spritz on my wrist for hours and can still perceive the scent wonderfully. It never becomes unpleasant, is not a headache candidate, and doesn't have that "I'm going to be sick" sweetness. A real surprise for me!

Even after hours, praline and bourbon vanilla aren't alone.... Rose and a hint of orange blossom lie delicately above. Little darling.

The sweetest temptation since chocolate-flower perfumes exist. Feminine, soft, seductive, and surprisingly innocent. Thank you, Kenzo!!

Thick ripe raspberries roll in deep red rose petals swimming in creamy caramel, playfully tossing vanilla cloud balls at each other.
