A place to go
I have never been to the jungle… but if the place smells just somewhat like Kenzo’s Jungle le Tigre it is definitely a place I would like to visit.
The fragrance is beautifully composed, starting out fruity/floral. It has a very sweet note in the beginning but this disappears after a while and is replaced by a slightly watery/fresh note. I also get a smoky note at a point, maybe the massoia wood? The base is beautiful, very discrete and warm. Definitely a scent I love to wear on warm days.
I own several of Kenzo’s fragrances and all come in marvelous bottles. The bottle is interesting, the design a mix between the minimalistic and the organic.

Everyone take cover...
... and get ready to sneak away and dig in. The tiger is coming! Well, it’s not that bad, it doesn’t weigh 300kg like a full-grown tiger and it doesn’t have stripes either. But it packs a punch. However, it’s not quite as much of a knockout candidate as Kenzo's Elephant.
This tiger doesn’t eat people, although it’s also not a delicate carpet torpedo like a Persian cat.
Le Tigre opens with a note that smells of oranges, mango (Davana smells sweet and mango-like) and kumquat. Delicious, quite opulent. Not for timid hairless Sphynx cats.
In the heart note, it turns up the volume. Floral, somewhat powerful. Ylang-Ylang in oversized proportions. The breath of the tiger, grrrrrrhaummmmmmmm.
Tigers can’t purr; the only big cat that purrs is the cougar, but this tiger purrs for poetic license. It purrs cinnamon (but in full force) and a velvety wood into the base.
A fragrance for our punch-loving community on Parfumo. Unfortunately, I’ve only been able to snag a mini so far. Someday-if I come across one-it will move in here and become my new pet. It can even sleep in the bed. Purrrrrrrr

Tiger - not so wild!
My beautiful tiger! Also one that has almost disappeared from the scene, in nature and also from German perfumeries.
As a cat lover, I owe it to my wannabe tigers to discuss this cat scent. Sorry, tiger.
Every feline creature is deeply convinced that it is actually a big tiger and behaves accordingly. (Fortunately, the scent that tomcats sometimes emit has nothing to do with this fragrance.)
The big kitty wants to be cuddled and first presents itself with a fruity-floral, already intense note. I can detect kumquats. There is supposed to be a type of Indian vetch, often used in garlands for festivities: Divina. But I cannot confirm or deny this with my not entirely complete botanical knowledge of East Asian plants, although I do recognize a similarity to the scent vetch commonly found here. Even now, cinnamon is already present, like a very light breeze, far less massive than in Jungle Elephant, its sibling.
But one cannot deny a certain presence to the little tiger right from the start. Cats usually show you very quickly that they are there and want to be duly acknowledged. Unless, of course, they feel offended and punish their humans with indifference, which can only be remedied by the most intensive lobbying, if they are gracious enough. Cats are true masters at this.
But that doesn't happen here. I am quickly wrapped up in its charm. The fruit-scent mixture vibrates towards creaminess - with a hint of thorns, wonderful. Osmanthus bothers me in some fragrances, but not in this one. This fruit-flower base, miles away from the now often common synthetic fruit pudding substitute disasters, glides almost imperceptibly into the woody, becoming even softer, yet remains insistent. Amber caresses and darkens it.
When cats weave around your legs and wrap their tails around you, they demand love at the highest level of urgency. And so it is with this fragrance.
Very offensive cuddling, loud purring, but no roaring! All with the elegance of feline majesties who know how to charm their servants.
The tiger is a cunning mix of fruits, flowers, spices, and woods and does not hide in the jungle; it waits in the open terrain for its prey. I first bought it around 1999 and later acquired it again at a good opportunity. Here, apparently, neither good ingredients nor the launch were skimped on; great advertising poster, and the little box from which you had to free both tiger and elephant was amusing and well-made.
Also here, the well-known attention to detail, as with many Kenzos.
The fact that the fragrance did not become as big a hit as "Flower" is probably due to the angularity that exists despite the harmony. The jungles do not hit the mass taste; they are too special and quirky for that. Tiger is possibly a tad more palatable than Elephant, but really only a tad.
I still need to tackle the other "travel fragrances," Madagascar and Bali.
I have not tamed the tiger, but it has tamed me, just like a cat would.

When you encounter a tiger… you have to pet it :D
Kenzo Jungle Le Tigre. Hm, I still remember testing the elephant version of the Jungle scent with a certain anticipation, and I really didn't like it at all. The scent was so overwhelming that I wanted to run away from it like from a stampede…

Now I’m daring to try a Jungle scent again with the tiger and hope that the tiger is more pettable rather than being a scratchy creature like my cat…

… well, we’ll see… aah and speaking of the devil: My cat just jumped at my window from outside and is coming in now… luckily it’s daytime (while I’m testing this scent), so he’s just having a little snack before settling in for his digestion and beauty sleep until the evening :DD

The scent:
The scent starts off not badly :)
I smell (a bit heavily) floral-sweet notes with a slightly fruity background, which probably comes from the Osmanthus. The fruity background smells slightly of oranges, but it’s less citrusy and that must be the kumquat. However, this could also be the Davana, as I’m currently reading that it can smell fruity-sweet among other things. I’m not entirely sure here. What’s clear is that it smells floral, very sweet, and indeed orange-fruity.
A bit sultry perhaps (could this be due to the Ylang-Ylang? It could be, as I always find Ylang-Ylang a bit heavy and sultry), but here not in an annoying way.
Over time, the scent takes on a slight spicy touch, which I can’t assign to any of the listed notes. Cinnamon? It doesn’t smell like that yet, but it’s still pleasant. Although, a bit later the scent does smell a little like cinnamon, but more like amber. It remains mainly floral/spicy-sweet with a slight woody note in the base, before at the very end the scent becomes more floral again, where I believe you can best detect the Ylang-Ylang.

The sillage and longevity:
The power is strong with… argh I meant the sillage is strong with this scent! So it’s easily detectable and leaves a little scent cloud.
The longevity is quite good at over ten hours.

The bottle:
In terms of the bottle, this one is very similar to the elephant. That means it’s rectangular and this time filled with pink fragrance liquid. The cap, however, is adorned with large, chrome leaves, from which a beautifully sculpted tiger emerges :)
I really like the bottle.

Ah, I can breathe a sigh of relief. This Jungle scent actually smells very good, nicely sweet, a bit spicy and floral, very feminine,… simply beautiful!
Apart from the pleasant scent, it also impresses with its sillage and longer longevity, making it quite a great going-out scent that… well… can also come off as sexy :)

The scent is more suited for autumn and spring, but as always, everyone can decide for themselves when to wear a scent, but on too warm days, it should be applied sparingly, as it can really pack a punch otherwise.

Well, with this scent, I can once again say: Test it if you get the chance! It might be worth it! :)

The Tiger in Autumn...
I acquired this scent in 1998, in a store that sold inexpensive used testers from perfumeries. Soon, my bottle began to turn a dark apricot color. However, in my opinion, the scent has not changed over all these years.
Yes, it is a strong and very individual fragrance! Nothing pleasing and nothing for those who prefer subtlety! I completely agree with Riechegut. Does it not suit blondes? No idea! I myself have dark hair... okay, a bit gray now. ;-)
On cool autumn days, I really enjoy wearing it. Then, when I feel like a spicy, intense scent. I think it’s the kumquat that makes JLT so special. You eat these little oranges whole, and the bittersweet peel leaves a tingling sensation on the tongue. That’s how I perceive the fragrance as well. And then combined with cinnamon - wonderful!
It is only surpassed by its buddy "Jungel l'Elephant" - this cardamom bomb is one of my absolute favorites for the Advent season.

After the funky opening, this is a beautiful amber scent. Not overwhelming sillage and longevity could be better. Wish I got more cinnamon.

From sweetly scented blossoms, a fine spicy wood develops with a subtle hint of cinnamon. A great scent even without a dangerous tiger growl.

Amidst cinnamon-dusted amber wood
she settles down,
golden rays warm
the exotic splendor
all around
to life.

Floral-spicy with a hint of fruity freshness: This is how the tiger's path leads through the jungle, woody, dusted with cinnamon, aiming for amber gold.

The combination of floral sweetness and amber wood is nice, but a bit too tame for me. I preferred the elephant. Always a winner.

Fruity-floral, with a slightly sultry spice. Sweetness for me is close to the tolerance limit. Creamy-gourmand as it develops and fades.

A distinctive, spicy-fruity scent for a cool autumn evening. The slightly tart kumquat adds a special touch. Timelessly beautiful!

Rightly overshadowed by the elephants. Exotic-floral/oriental-sweet amber scent. The warmth of its fur resembles Cartier's "Panthere."
