Kenzo Homme (Eau de Toilette Marine) Kenzo 2023

KENZO HOMME Eau de Toilette Marine, it is a men´s perfume, reminding of a sunny and salty summer day.

The translucent blue-green bottle of KENZO HOMME Eau de Toilette Marine evokes the color of the sea merging with the horizon, and it is in line with the idea of a fresh aquatic.

It is not too loud, like a usual Quentin Bisch creation, but it will last long and will have a decent silage for such a scent, it´s going to be perfect in the hot weather rather than now with temperatures of around 1 degree Celsius in Germany.

I was not aware that he can do a scent which is not having a monster performance, well now I know he can. For a summer freshie, to spray and go, it is quite nice and refreshing, reminding me about the sea breeze and the ocean.

For about 100€ the 110ml bottle I think it´s priced high, but it will go down in a while for sure.
I like it, it has a certain bold creativity to it, which in today´s "green mandarin orange with lavender" scents, seems like a good direction for Kenzo.

It shares half of the composition with the EDP. Sea saltiness is the same, but where EDP is leather and spicy woods, this is clean Musk and then the Ylang, which is a thing I don't really love. The Ylang gives it a playfulness that makes it a good choice for evening walks or intimate encounters.

Still, it has an awesome performance and sillage for an EDT on my skin. I'd go for this one if you like EDTi or EDP but you want a more office-safe / clean scent that won't make you stand out as those two do.

Lets start with saying that this fragrance is kinda linear. The scent profile remains somewhat the same, but its in a good way. I don't want something super complex for the summer. I would rather reserve that for events and formal occasions. This is a very weird scent actually, I don't think I have EVER smelled something like this. This gave sunscreen vibes, and at some point I said it smells like a sweet crayon? Idk this is just a very unique scent. Usually when i just don't like a fragrance i smell it once and im like "ok, no more of this", but this one, i smelled it, i was weirded out from how it smelled, but then it grew on me? very weird process, but this is by far one of the most unique smelling marine scents ive come across. as far as longevity goes, a solid 6-7 hours from one spray. Also one thing both me and my friend were noticing, is that this one isnt sharp or punchy at ALL. I was comparing Versace's Pour Homme to this one, and while the pour homme had a masculine screech to it, this one did not. it was a very mellow smooth scent.

Guys, do not blind buy this. This is definitely not what i expected from this fragrance. But im not saying this in a bad way. Some may like it, some may hate it. I for sure like it. Very unique, smooth, milky-powdery.

When I bought it, summer hadn't arrived yet. The weather was cool when I first sprayed it, and I didn't like it, so I decided to let it macerate. Once summer came, I sprayed it again and absolutely loved it. The best way to describe it is that it smells like you've applied sunscreen, gone for a swim in the sea, and then taken a shower. Having that summer vacation scent waft into your nose with every light breeze in warm weather is truly lovely. Longevity reaches up to 12 hours. The projection is very strong for the first 2 hours, after which it stays closer to the skin.

What can I say about this Kenzo, they bear the seal of the marine and this one was not going to be any different.
The combination with ylang gives it that fresh, floral and sweet touch, that touch of spring breeze... together with that woody touch that although it can remind you of sandalwood (and it does) has that little touch that is Quentin's fetish: akigalawood, which although it is very small, he has it for sure.

Very long lasting, the truth is, the work day takes you towards the end of it already being close to the skin with that buzzing projection that Kenzo have for 2 hours. In 24h clothes and more it fulfills you from A to Z.

Summery, springy and perhaps autumnal until the end of that classic strange month of October where it is hot during the day and cool when the sun goes down.

Casual and sporty for both men and women. But sporty, not gym-like, otherwise we would suffocate with sweat among so many yellow flowers.

On a personal note, I'll tell you that this is one of my favorites from the whole new Kenzo line, the truth is that so many marine and woody notes were already quite tiring. It's good that there are new "colors" so to speak, we leave behind that navy blue and brown and go for something white and light blue with something yellow.

In short: Kenzo homme and the navy, but this time taking a new direction.
