iron temple rose.....
Hmmmmmmm.... A lot of cedar and charcoal slammed together for the first half hour. I like the charcoal, it’s not overpowering. Goes on weirdly sour, I think it’s the rose… smells like cabbage roses to me which I struggle with. It feels coarse. Inelegant, but not unattractive or “outdoorsy”... It’s quite impressive to make something feel rough but not off-putting.

Sometimes I get church, mostly not. A post-apocalyptic makeshift temple in a dilapidated sawmill. Nothing weepy or meditative…. An industrial, iron church. Suddenly fizzles out to a bizarrely sedate, near-soapy sandalwood. Pretty nice, I like it.

Edit 2 June: this perfume lasts. And it transfers like mad... somehow it transferred from my wrist to a wool shirt to a leather coat above that. I don't love this scent but I find it verrry addictive. Sometimes I regret sampling it because of the first half hour but I always end up with a lovely sandalwood that lasts for I don't know yet. Eternity ig.

Dry Dusty Church
This is nicely blended, I smell all the notes listed but none overpower the others. Everything about this dry. The wood and rose smell dried up and crunchy. The incense isn't a rich and resinous cloud, but like light wispy tendrils of smoke floating towards the ceiling. And I feel like you can actually smell the charcoal. If this fragrance was a texture it would be the feeling of fine, powdery ash left after a blazing fire. I think I like it? Time will tell.

Smoky incense green rose
With the first spray you do get the signature Kerosene blast you get with Copper Skies and Blackmail. As it lingers the green rose becomes prominent with incense and charcoal swirling around. I do get some churchy vibes. It’s warm but also fresh at the same time. Very glad I purchased. IMO everything from this brand is chefs kiss.

Awful opening: cabbage, rose, paint thinner. Doesn't get better - basic woody incense muddied by a stupid green charcoal accord.

Delicious surprise! Not my usual scent profile. Sugary, sultry, dark. Different from but gave me a similar feel to Jazz Club.

First fragrance to truly capture what a really old house smells like. Not stunning, but somehow the mundanity has bewitched me a bit.

Smoke over cedar, fleeting citrus note. Hint of incense. Like burning cedar kindling. Smoke becomes less dominant after the open.

A burst of smoke to open, drying down to bright yet dusty green rose, frankincense, and dry, powdery sandalwood/cedar. Not what I expected!
