Strong Fragrance

I bought it based on recommendations and I have to say - it's quite intense, what hits you - first the lily of the valley overwhelmed me and now the lemon is slowly drifting in. I'm still waiting for the blackcurrant - the heaviness surely comes from the sandalwood - a scent that just doesn't want to stop - perhaps a bit soapy, muggy - but that could be due to the 30 degrees outside. Surprisingly my 2nd dupe - successful????.

The Eternal Search for the Ultimate Scent - or My Encounter with La Rive Pearl Women

I am a freak, which means my taste is quite broad, and I have a wide range of perfumes in terms of style; everything is somehow represented.
Pearl Women by La Rive arrived two days ago, as a result of a comment from my predecessor, out of curiosity about what the scent might smell like, and I can only join in with my comment: great scent, it really has presence on me. It has already lasted 8 hours and is still very noticeable to me. Pearl Women has presence, a freshness that is not citrusy sharp but brings forth a creamy essence. I believe it even stands out on me, but not unpleasantly, annoying others, but it reveals itself and has a clarifying effect. It reminds me a bit of Clear Day by Arden, but just a bit. While one clears the head and then continues warmly rounded, the other will certainly provoke as well. Unfortunately, I am not familiar with all the Boss perfumes, but Pearl Women is wonderfully spicy on me and totally long-lasting.

Gentle and Beautiful

For some time now, our local Müller branch has been carrying a few La Rive fragrances. Currently, there are only 4 or 5, but I hope that there will be more in the future. Although La Rive fragrances are inspired by more expensive brand scents, I personally find them to be more beautiful, subtle, and thus more wearable for me. I can't complain about the longevity either; they last just as long as the expensive originals, if not better.

Pearl is a fine, pleasant, friendly, and creamy scent. It always reminds me of a sunny summer morning when the sun is already warm and friendly, shining through the open window as I wake up. It doesn't smell perfumey but leans more towards a skincare scent. I can't imagine it annoying anyone or causing someone to throw open a window because of it. Sure, it is refined, has no sharp edges - all attributes that are often criticized in fragrances here.

I, on the other hand, like that.

At the beginning, I smell blackcurrants and bergamot. I catch a hint of peach or apricot without having to think of a fruit candy. Because it is not sweet. The scent becomes softer and gentler. What does cashmere actually smell like? It’s probably more the association with a soft, light cashmere sweater. The scent doesn't change drastically (I don’t like fragrances that smell completely different at the end than at the beginning, so I am very satisfied with the scent progression); it simply becomes softer, gentler, and creamier. The basic character remains intact. I find the longevity of nearly 5 hours more than acceptable. I know some more expensive fragrances that run out of steam much faster...

I only tested the corresponding Boss once while out, so I can't compare the two very well. However, I remember the Boss as being lighter and more fleeting, but fundamentally very similar.

Edit in Feb. 2016: Schnegge is right - it smells exactly like Mexx Woman. I just compared all three on my skin in parallel. It has hardly any similarity to Boss Jour.

Clean, fresh, creamy, well-groomed, a lot of fragrance for little money, quite feminine and slightly soapy, plus a pretty bottle, definitely worth a try!
