A Little Gem Beyond Expectations

Rarely have I found a dupe as good as this one. The bottle is indeed inspired, and the color is right, but the tactile experience is a disaster, just like the dreadful cap. Simple and turned upside down, it's okay for me on the shelf; after all, no daylight gets in due to the color of the glass. But the content, which is what really matters, makes up for it. Gently, warmly, softly, I am enveloped by a delicate-sweet hint of fragrance. Suitable for any occasion, at any time of day; in the evening, I admit, a little more of it, but overall, it’s a safe bet that you can't go wrong with. Here, I like to spray a little more; the slim price makes it possible.

From Flop to Top

Since my COVID illness in the fall, my experience with fragrances has been chaotic. My sense of smell suffered, and many scents that were once my dream fragrance are unfortunately no longer so. They go to the basement for now, as long as they aren't triggers for migraines or nausea.

Last week, I tested the fragrance here from La Rive and wrote a scathing review. But it turns out that Look of Women doesn't deserve that. On my second attempt, it made its way into my collection as a new addition. I have no idea why the first test went so poorly.

Visually, the bottle in baby pink is a sister to NR. But that's where the similarity ends for me. The opening is classically reminiscent of hairspray and a bit of rubber. But as always with LR, it only lasts at the beginning. After that, there's rose and peach. Floral fruity. I've become cautious with musk, but here it's well-balanced with amber. Together, it has a slightly bitter note like Yves Rocher Thè Vert, which I still miss. The dry down is then softer with sandalwood and patchouli.

Last week, I smelled fabric softener, but no, it's green notes that dominate and only a little floral. I have no idea if it was the tester, as this time I was in a different store. Now, a flop has turned into a top, although I definitely recommend testing it first. You can't go wrong with it. It's a reliable scent that lasts quite a while. Of course, it's not a bombshell that wafts behind you like a flag and overwhelms the environment.
