A Flower Pressed by Sand.
Desert Rose - the name appeals to me.
Everything related to the desert interests me greatly. I love the desert. The silence, the endless expanses, and the facets that this landscape possesses. The sand. The coarse and the fine sand. The heat, the approaching coolness of the night, and the wind that whispers softly to me and makes my hair flutter. Those who have been to the Sahara know what I am talking about. An image that stays in the mind forever. It was a wonderful time. Unfortunately, visiting such places has become increasingly dangerous in today's world. But I have my memories. Enough of the "romanticizing" and philosophizing. Let's get to the main topic - the scent Desert Rose, which unfortunately has nothing to do with the desert.
Al Haramain is a manufacturer from the Arabian Peninsula that has been around since 1970, where opulence is not exactly held back. Unfortunately, the fragrances are often barely bearable, as they come across as very heavy and overwhelmingly burdensome on the wearer. This is no different here. However, the scents are not particularly characterized by high quality, and many fragrances quickly fade away. At first, one is doused with a ton of weight on the body. With this and that. With everything and everyone.
A bear is tied to me when I wear the scent. In a visual sense. Because the fragrance feels very heavy, also very medicinal, and is equipped with a strange metallic note. Pineapple is very sharp in the opening, not managing to break through the medicinal note to the surface, and that is a good thing. Delicious is something else. It also becomes slightly citrusy, but this fades extremely quickly. Then an oversized wave of jasmine and rose, which do not appear beautiful at all, but rather incredibly shrill. It makes a perfume lover's heart bleed. It really hurts when you inhale the scent. The rose and jasmine seem to have been crushed in my thoughts by the heavy sand. Because their incredibly shrill nature has been stifled in its infancy. Only a faint tone of tonka and a weak wood note remain. I also catch something fruity towards the end, but I can't identify it for the life of me. I can't get anything more out of the scent. With this fragrance, you are not planted in the desert. That much is certain. The strange metallic impression remains throughout, until the scent completely leaves me after four hours. It leaves no traces in my soul, like the footprints of people in the desert. As long as the wind stands still.
Totally off the mark, I would say, and I am glad when I have pushed the scent far away from me.
