Del Cielo a la Tierra

Al-Dana cumple con la función de traer el exclusivo y perfectamente creado Hacivat a bolsillos económicos de una manera increíble, y a diferencia de lo que usualmente estamos acostumbrados con las esencias árabes, esta obra de Lattafa se destaca por su aroma y no por su S/L, incluso, éste es sumamente inferior a l original de Nishane.

Al grano, vamos a las diferencias sustanciales.

Salida: Al-Dana es más alcoholizada y mucho mas frutal, pero su aroma se ajusta pasado unos minutos.

Aroma: su aroma se mantiene exactamente igual, salvo algunas pequeñas ráfagas sutilmente dulces.

Duración: dura la mitad que un Hacivat, pero cuesta 1.2/10 de lo que cuesta el original.

Sencillamente es excepcional.

The Good One Deserves Much More Attention.

So here we have it, Lattafa's alternative to Hacivat. For those who don't want to read much: Yes, buy it, it's incredibly good. The "Al Dana / الدانة | Lattafa / لطافة" is my first purchase from the Niche Emarati series and I am more than astonished at how Lattafa has simply added another level of quality here at a fair price.

I just can't understand why a "Hawas Black / هوس | Rasasi / الرصاصي" has so much hype (had) and this gem here flies so far under the radar. Apart from a few tiny flaws, the "Al Dana / الدانة | Lattafa / لطافة" hardly falls short of its model.

Enough has already been said about Hacivat's or its Aventus-like DNA, I think.
The "Al Dana / الدانة | Lattafa / لطافة" fulfills exactly that purpose and does so brilliantly: It leans towards Aventus but is not Aventus per se. A bit less smoky, a touch more metallic, and a little more citrusy and fruity. What bothers me about the overall picture of Aventus is perfectly balanced here.

Only the opening does not achieve the big wow effect of Hacivat. Nevertheless, it is not bad (and neither of the two fragrances is really the highlight).

The H/S is a notch below that of Hacivat, which lasts well over 10 hours on me and whose sillage hardly diminishes. The "Al Dana / الدانة | Lattafa / لطافة" easily reaches the 8-hour mark, but after 6-7 hours, it doesn't project quite as strongly as at the beginning - but don't get me wrong: The sillage is still incredibly good! I don't find that bad at all, considering you pay 1/3 of the price and can spray generously.

Clear recommendation for testing. For a blind buy, I would assume "Hacivat knowledge".

Lattafa Hacivat

Originally, I only wanted to make a statement about this fragrance, but I can't help but write a few more lines and craft a small review.

I am not someone who can pick out specific notes in perfumes - either I like the scent or I don't. Unless the perfume goes in a very clear direction and individual notes are easy to detect.

I am also not a fan of whether a scent is a copy or a dupe of another fragrance. However, I can't help but say that this scent smells to me, or better: to my nose, exactly 1:1 like Hacivat.

Many people buy Hacivat as an alternative to Aventus. And indeed, Hacivat goes in that direction. In my opinion, however, it is earthier and less smoky, but with stronger sillage and longevity. For many people, this criterion that Hacivat performs very well is the buying argument for Hacivat over Aventus. It’s worth noting that it’s not significantly cheaper: both are very expensive specimens.

And this is where "Niche Emarati - Al Dana / الدانة | Lattafa / لطافة" comes into play. As mentioned, to me, this fragrance smells absolutely identical! However, with one fine difference: it costs a fraction of the price. I paid 40.- for a 100ml bottle, which is about 20% of a Hacivat in the same size. I also can't detect a significant difference in performance; longevity and sillage are also good, just like the original.

Due to the incredibly close similarity to Hacivat, I will forgo a more detailed scent description here; you can read plenty of that in the reviews of Hacivat. Perhaps Al Dana is a tiny, tiny, tiny bit fruitier and less earthy, but really just minimally. The lemon-pineapple note takes the lead here as well. Over time, this one also becomes creamier and softer, really pleasant to wear.

The bottle is great, the presentation is nice too. You can get an idea of it; I have uploaded 2 more photos. Price/performance is excellent!

Conclusion: If you like Hacivat, you will also like this one. For me, it is a really great fragrance for spring.

P.S. well, this review turned out to be not so short after all ;-)

Like a Walk in the Woods

ADDITIONAL NOTE ON LONGEVITY:

I would have originally described the longevity as "rather mediocre" and "disappointing." Either my perception has changed or the scent has become a bit more intense after a few weeks/months.

It now lasts 6-8 hours on my skin, which is perfectly fine considering the price of usually around €45. I would give it 8/10 points.

And right after the rain, when the first rays of sunshine hit the forest floor.

I'm not an expert, so I evaluate this scent more "emotionally" rather than analyzing all its components. I leave that to more experienced users.

I find this scent fantastic. It is somehow special, without trying to impose itself.

Due to my associations, I perceive the scent as calming, like a walk through the woods where I played as a child. Unwind, breathe, clear the mind.

On the other hand, I also find it a bit exciting. I notice this because I want to smell it again and again and then sniff it on my clothes or the back of my hand.

Here, I must unfortunately criticize a bit: the longevity and intensity of the scent are unfortunately rather mediocre.

(This can of course also be advantageous if you want to use the scent daily in the office - I believe it is wonderful for that.)

The scent starts citrus-fresh; I don't smell much pineapple. That's not a problem for me, as I'm not a big fan of pineapple.

All of this fades (on my skin) within a few minutes.

Then the wonderful feel-good forest note comes to the fore, which I have already described above.

Wood, leaves, and coniferous trees, moss - still damp from the rain, but now warmed by intense rays of sunshine.

The whole thing remains wonderfully fresh and never feels musty or "swampy."

So the scent stays like that - until it suddenly disappears. For me, after about 5 hours.

The bottle is beautifully crafted and feels high-quality. I think the look is great, but that's of course a matter of taste. At first glance, it appears black-silver, but when held up to the light, the glass appears greenish - very fitting actually to my "green" forest associations.

There is nothing to criticize about the spray head.

Despite the somewhat disappointing longevity, I would unconditionally recommend this scent to anyone who could evoke a cozy feeling or a beautiful memory with the above description of a fresh, damp forest.

Alongside "Antique," this is (so far) my favorite scent from the "Niche Emarati" line by Lattafa.
