One of the better Lattafa releases in recent times

Less tea, more everything else

In full transparency, I half hoped this would be a dupe for Chris Collins’ “African Rooibos,” not because I don’t want to support him but bc $175 is a lot of cash for my budget. This is not a dupe, or even a distant relative, of African Rooibos. As a stand alone scent, it’s a pleasant unisex fragrance that leans masculine.

Dynasty is a solid choice if you’re looking for a daily driver/every day scent. The raspberry note pulls this scent away from being a totally ambiguous brown/leather scent. I get *some* Roobios tea but it’s quite faint and deeply blended. The suede and cashmere are the stand out notes here. The clary sage gives Dynasty a pleasant but light herbaceousness that helps give this scent a fresh/spicy edge. I’d recommend to any person looking for an inoffensive scent for the fall & winter. Not for me, but for someone else. 6.5/10

Distinctive earthy rooibos but fresh and aromatic

First and foremost, this composition is mainly tea scent, however, its rooibos and its a huge difference. Prominent bergamot, raspberry and ginger gives that earthy and raw composition aromatic freshness I really enjoy, Im positively surprised. Great to me as its something different and distinctive enough in aromatic frags.
However, Im not evaluating the sillage and longevity as its highly personal and subjective. Remember folks, DYOR, never blind buy.

Woody rooibos soaked suede

I was looking for another rooibos fragrance that was different from Chris Collins African Rooibos and Memo's Winter Palace. This is supposedly inspired by Clive Christian Red Tea Vetiver and I can certainly see the similarities. This is a little sharper, particularly the opening, but otherwise shares a very similar DNA. I would have preferred more raspberry and ginger here to balance the strong wood and suede elements. As is, it's definitely more masculine leaning. Little evolution to the scent, bright rooibos soaked suede in cedar from beginning to end. Substantial bottle with some heft, design suits the fragrance. Longevity and projection are good, this is not 'beast mode'. Likely less appealing to the younger audience. Suitable for most seasons and casual or business.

A Little Sharp...

The opening was sharp, which I expected and truly kind of liked. Three hours in and there's still an odd sharpness at the end of the sniff (if that makes sense?) that I don't love. Almost as if the tea note isn't getting along with my skin. I see the comparison to CDN Sillage, but this isn't as well blended as that IMO. Spray was from a decant, so maturing it shouldn't be the issue in theory. I'll see how late drydown goes, but as of right now, I'm not sold. And I usually am by now if it's a hit for me. A little disappointed as I usually love a citrus and tea vibe.
