Juicy, bubbly summer fun
If you look at the notes lists, it's pretty clear that this is supposed to be a dupe to Viva La Juicy Le Bubbly. The notes aren't exactly the same, but verrry close. And the scents are definitely close to each other, too! Unfortunately, I have already given away my sample of VLJ Le Bubbly, so I can't compare them directly. But what I can say is that I like Haya better, the notes feel more defined to me, especially the blood orange. I was a bit meh about Le Bubbly and love Haya. It's not the first time that a Lattafa dupe works better for me than its designer inspiration! Small changes often make a huge difference to me.
So, how does this smell? It has a lot of the general Viva La Juicy DNA: Berries and white florals on a glossy, smooth caramel base. Even though Haya doesn't have it in the official notes, I find the caramel quite strong here. It's the hard caramel candy kind, so it's not burnt or sticky smelling, just sweet. Vanilla is of course present, too. This is a gourmand scent that gets tamed by a touch of creamy white florals, not the other way round.
What sets it apart are the champagne and blood orange notes. It doesn't have the alcohol scent of real champagne, but it definitely has the sparkle. The blood orange is super juicy and a tad bitter, as it should be. Together with the gourmand notes and the strawberry, the scent still stays firmly on the sweet side.
This is such a fun and uplifting scent to me. Definitely the wrong choice if you take yourself very seriously or want to impress a boring business casual crowd. But if you're in the mood for a sweet fruity cocktail or soda in scent form and don't mind a few flowers in it, you might love it!
