Ganymede + Mango = Love
Masa is a perfume that is hardly being talked about at the moment.
Khamrah and co. tend to get the big hype.
But I think Masa is actually one of the best fragrances from Lattafa.
It's not just the bottle that reminds me of Nische.
What's in the bottle definitely smells like niche too.
Because this is a(n) Ganymede alternative/dupe with a twist.
Because instead of mandarin, Lattafa uses mango here.
And the mango note is quite prominent.
Is it a playful mango reminiscent of a clubbing fragrance? No!
I notice the mango right from the start.
It's a sweet mango, but still very masculine, serious and a note that seems very mature.
There is also a lot of saffron, which is totally reminiscent of the saffron from Ganymede.
And a note that has already disturbed many in Ganymede, curry!
Or is it turmeric?
It's probably one of the two.
It gives the fragrance a certain pleasant spiciness & a very subtle sharpness.
The longer I wore the fragrance, the more it reminded me of Ganymede, with mango added.
That sounds kind of strange, but I find it much more pleasant than the original precisely because of the mango.
Fortunately, in the DD, the curry/turmeric recedes more and more into the background, allowing the saffron, ginger and mango to take center stage.
Fresh, slightly creamy, spicy and pleasantly sweet at the end.
A fragrance that you always catch yourself smelling on your wrist.
Just like Ganymede, it is not a fragrance that is 100% safe to buy blind.
You have to like Ganymede or Bois Impérial.
But it is a fragrance for a somewhat more mature, refined gentleman, which is the best way to describe it.
I can't complain about the performance.
Whenever I wore it, it never let me down.
It does its thing well, it's there, it radiates well without being too strong.
Above average but not a beast either, something in between.
Just like Ganymede, Masa is also unisex.
I find it far too masculine for a woman.
But of course there are also women who celebrate this and like to wear it.
Nevertheless, as a small warning, the fragrance is definitely quite masculine!
On the whole, a very nice fragrance.
I used to own the Bois Impérial which is very reminiscent of Ganymede.
I then sold it because I didn't appreciate this fragrance DNA at the time.
I regretted it in the end and wanted to buy a new bottle.
After I discovered the Masa, I no longer need the Bois Impérial either.
I think the Masa is better, this mango note, which is not found in either Ganymede or Bois Impérial, is simply amazing.
And that's why I definitely recommend buying it!
