Nice blended freshie, a bit of a take on Ganymede
Sampling Mancera Amberful, a late 2024 release and very pleasant, bright citrus/woody/amber blend, not really amber-heavy or especially resinous or balsamic in the usual way, but more of a blended freshie type of amber conception (like Tom Ford Rive d’Ambre). It seems to be commonly compared to Marc-Antoine Barrois Ganymede, which I definitely understand and somewhat agree with. I find it to be a very likable mix of citruses, spices (pepper, nutmeg), amber, cedar, and patchouli, and it’s fittingly a good mix of light and dark, fresh and deep. I don’t find it to be quite as good as Ganymede while still being very pleasant and presumably it’ll be at discounters at some point.

As with much of the house’s current offerings, US points-of-sale include both department stores and boutiques like Olfactif, from which I bought my sample, and the retail pricing is $180 for 120ml. I’d certainly recommend checking out Olfactif and their offerings as they’re a great boutique.

Great Citrusy-Fresh Daily Fragrance
I have a small decant of this Mancera - Amberful lying around here. I already gave a brief statement, now here’s a detailed review. Many Mancera fragrances are quite hyped, but this one should not be counted among them at all. Even here, there are not even 100 ratings and quite few statements & reviews. However, this one is not bad at all with its wonderful freshness that is absolutely great for everyday wear. The name Amberful is, however, somewhat misleading: Mancera's titles often create false expectations regarding the weighting of the notes. When I think of the name Amberful, I think more of a warm amber scent with relatively little freshness. That is not the case here, as this is more of a citrusy-fresh fragrance where amber slightly comes through in the base. The comparisons with Ganymede are somewhat justified, but here you get a distinctly more pleasing and far less complex DNA with citrusy freshness. For me, it’s a great release, although I haven’t been overwhelmed with the urge to buy it. Still, it’s a solid release that can definitely seem interesting for everyday use.

There’s not much more to say about the bottles and packaging: They are well-known, uniform, and come with a great magnetic cap. The sprayers are really good, and the overall image of this brand is high-quality. The price is absolutely reasonable, especially if there’s a bit of discount. Available in 60 and 120ml.
The fragrance starts with a lot of citrusy-fresh notes. The main character in the top note is clearly the yuzu, which brings a wonderful citrusy-fresh and juicy note. Classic bergamot also mixes into this top note and harmonizes, as always, with the yuzu. Very slight Ganymede vibes come through, but they are much more pleasing and also much safer. This roasted vibe is not so present here, but rather leans towards the fruity-citrusy direction. There’s also a pleasant nutmeg spiciness with a bit of pepper that lingers for a long time and gives this fragrance a slightly distinctive edge to the citrusy freshness. After a longer while, a few woody notes & patchouli follow, along with amber in the base, which gives this fragrance a slight warmth. Nevertheless, it’s not a typical amber scent that comes across as heavy, as this fragrance retains its simple notes. Overall coherent and well-suited for everyday wear due to these wonderful fresh notes, including a slight warmth and a bit of spice. In the base, the fragrance gently fades out with amber and wood. The scent is unisex, but it will certainly appeal more to men for wearing.
Performance is in a solid and good range. This fragrance lasts a minimum of 8 hours, making it a great scent for everyday use. Sillage is in the medium range and absolutely "office-appropriate".

Overall, a great fragrance with some creative approaches, yet still tailored for likability. Once again, a fantastic release from this brand, of which I like almost everything.

all good things come in threes ...
I went to my favorite counter nearby ... wanted something creamy.. beautiful and actually a Montale ... my favorite perfume consultant, with whom I always spend an hour or more, was not there :(
It went quite quickly ... on the paper strip I was satisfied... WAS

Once I got home, I was no longer happy.. no, I was even sad/disappointed when I sprayed it in the air. It felt anything but what I wanted... almost masculine (and then I also see that mainly men have it here)... I wanted to get rid of it... it disappeared into the box in my "can go" drawer..

Then came day x, I had a craving for something fresh... and I simply had nothing, as I never paid attention to citrusy scents and such... and then I took it out again.. sprayed it for the first time on my clothes... skin was still nothing for me ... but I had no more fresh options... and suddenly ... in connection with my body scent... I was incredibly taken with it and it just made me happy.. citrusy and woody and cool as if it’s really REALLY cold and you breathe in and your nose almost burns a little because it’s sooo cold... do you know that feeling? that’s how it felt .. when smoke comes out of your mouth when you exhale in winter... WOW clear, and clean and somehow also dry...

And whenever I now want a clear head ... something calming, something fresh that brings me down, I reach for Amberful.

Mooses from Morocco
Mooses swings his blue boat to the dock, untangles a few ropes and the net, and steps onto solid ground. In his once white shirt, he draws the attention from the fancy lounge across the way. Piercing eyes behind feminine sunglasses, piercing him with a hint of longing and uncertain rejection (yuzu and amber). Only the Bossa Nova version of cures lullaby whispering the secret thoughts of the guests from the speakers.
Mooses is not bothered by it; he has gained an additional skin over time. A skin of citrusy exoticism, no European bergamot standard, something more distant, something yuzu. But behind it lies an earthy, brown protective layer. An amber that reminds of the sea and wild whales, distant and awe-inspiring.
In the end, there remain lichens of moss that slowly dissolve depending on the length of wear and sweat exposure, scattering with the wind and water.
I know the yuzu violet combo from eau de cartier and quite like it. The amber effect feels very supportive of the masculine side, but I think it’s also worth a test for women and can bring surprises.
Yuzu and amber are probably the dominant pair. However, yuzu is likely accompanied by nutmeg. I cannot separate the amber from the patchouli; deep earthy brown probably describes it best. Behind it lies the moss, which allows the amber to have a really pleasant access for those, like me, who are a bit cautious about amber. The moss also makes it suitable for daily use for work and leisure.
With a quick sniff, it can be quite aquatic, which actually only gives it freshness.
I simply feel safe and always correctly "dressed" with it.
Mancera advertises it as a skinscent, and that’s exactly what it is. It lays on the skin and supports wherever it can. The longevity is once again fantastic.

This is a burst of citrus like Sicily by Mancera and dries down to a mix of ambroxan and water notes like l'immensité by LV.

Strong performance, pleasant opening, but lacks originality due to strong Ganymede resemblance. Good value for price.

The Ganymede has been beautifully refined and is slightly more citrusy. I like it much better than the MAB. H/S is amazing as always!

Typical synthetic amber note that you can smell on every third guy under 30 at stadium volume. Lasts until the day after tomorrow, unfortunately annoying.

Juicy yuzu note, slightly spicy, paired with a beautiful amber-oak moss base that definitely reminds me of Aventus. Great release!

Reminds me a bit of Ganymede, refreshed here with citrus like Aventus & Yuzu freshness. Quite a nice freshie with a hint of amber.

It's a shame that the yuzu feels so artificial. The tree moss-amber base doesn't improve it in the end - quite the opposite...

Same DNA as Instant Crush, less sweet, I get a lot of yuzu, citrus, wood, skin. Perfect for summer, h/s very good.

Citrusy with a spice like saffron, plus hints of Ganymede and a gum note. Eccentric, but not without charm.
