autumn roasted chestnuts
roasted chestnuts in the mountains...certainly difficult to wear as a perfume, you have to like the kind of perfume - sweet - I like it very much because it reminds me of old memories of life lived.....ovviamente sono italiana...ho questo profumo da anni....scorte comprese...se cercate il dolcetto di castagna provate il marchio tuttotondo perche questo è diverso dai soliti dolcetti zuccherini....non ho piu voglia di usare il traduttore automatico scusate la sincerità.....da questo profumo non mi posso separare....

love in autumn in a bottle
the best chestnut...light animal smell but no stink...extremely original so not suitable for those who love classic designer perfumes (chanel gucci and others)...smoky earthy sweet...different....I love it..the most beautiful chestnut in the world.... here we are not talking about the usual chestnut/pastry sweet.... a slightly sweet and animalic chestnut but that animalic without the smell obviously...... certainly original and not banal..... you see few of them around so it is difficult to find in perfumeries but when buying online I recommend taking a sample together with the perfume to avoid problems with returns for those who are afraid to try online etc..... the perfume takes you back to the uncontaminated autumn nature between chestnut trees and earth with the smell of chestnut fruit and also the smell of roasted chestnuts.... it reminds me of the mountains of my hometown ...love..

Buttery vanilla mingling with smoke
An appetizing, almost buttery vanilla mingling with smoke creates a distinctive and memorable combination. The sweet gourmand notes appear briefly, especially at the opening, adding a soft charm, but as they slowly dry down, the scent shifts its focus mainly to the smoke, which settles into a steady and noticeable base of the overall sillage.

Scents from the Kitchen
And from the frying or baking room, that just doesn't rhyme. In any case, the (partly undoubtedly unintentional) edible aspects of the perceivable aromas represent merely a - albeit significant - excerpt. But let's start from the beginning:

The promised leather is immediately present, first throat-pastille sweet, then violet-like and benzene-like, creating a peculiar interplay with a sweet note; for my part, chestnut (roasted chestnuts; edible No. 1), see below. I also find it chocolatey (edible No. 2). Raspberry? Yeah, that's fine (edible No. 3). It initially clashes with the violet for two or three minutes, then there is peace for a while, before the fruit-vegetable shares the fate of practically all plants that engage with the oh-so-proper violet: It gets taken down.

A hint of spicy sweat unexpectedly reminds me (edible No. 4) of the smell of a fresh döner. Noticeable only directly on the skin and only very subtly. It doesn't cause any concern, because after another half hour, the filled dough pocket has settled, and we are dealing with a warm leather scent with a slightly spicy touch; I think - fitting to what was mentioned above - of cumin. Additionally, the labdanum stretches its…whatever out. This stuff can quickly become animalistic, as it does here. At the same time, the lighter violet-leather gradually gets substituted by a darker, presumably oud-supported variant.

After barely an hour, a sweet-creamy note bothers me (edible No. 5). Soon it has an (edible No. 6) impression like that of cookies baked a bit too long. Shortbread or croissants are more dried out than baked in the oven. If they spend too much time in the oven, even if it's just a few minutes, they become too brown, too hard, with a hint of bitterness, as if their surface is already slightly scorched long before we can talk about obviously burnt pastries. They need to come out before they turn brown; the test with the wooden stick must still indicate a soft consistency.

After about an hour and a half, things move up a level in the kitchen: from the oven to the stovetop. There, milk has just boiled over and stuck (edible No. 7); a note I don't particularly like, which generally reveals guaiac or palo santo. Today's kitchen mishap is leathered and pampered. It may be a commendable idea in principle, but I find the combination of burnt milk and leather quite unfortunate. Perhaps the Micallefs thought similarly at some point, because by lunchtime, the leather recedes - and promptly gives way to the burnt milk again. Phew!

With some effort (and a bit of imagination), I can finally envision something other than burnt milk, but only later in the afternoon. I then like the scent better, as a nutty hint joins the roasted aromas (confirmed by my favorite colleague without knowledge of the details). I suspect that the latter is meant to refer to 'chestnut.' Bold! It probably serves mainly to activate childhood memories of, say, the fair. At least that works reasonably well.

Towards the end of the scent progression - it has almost become evening - I can think of oud again, specifically one from the woody-medical direction, although it remains just a hint. Softly sweetened by - of course - our valiant caramel and dusty vanilla (edible No. 8).

Conclusion: Difficult. At least for a guaiac grumbler like me. After all, the scent becomes more beautiful again after the slump in the middle.

I thank Gerdi for the sample. Sometimes just a note on the watchlist is enough to be considered here...

My Nose is Broken!
My nose is broken...

...how else could I like this scent? Just reading the fragrance pyramid is rather off-putting for me. I only like incense to a limited extent, I enjoy eating raspberries, but in a fragrance they usually bother me. I'm just cautiously approaching leather, and I can't stand oud at all!

And when you read the statements, you’d rather run away screaming than willingly let this scent touch your skin.

There’s talk of fast food, ham, bacon, and even baby vomit.

And what do I smell? To me, it smells pleasantly sweet like creamy nut pudding! The single little raspberry is just a decoration on top. Yes, it does have a slightly burnt scent due to the incense. But that very aspect for me bridges the gap from dessert-like smell to wearable perfume.

I would wear it! Very gladly, in fact! Even if it means I might have to spend this day alone... :-)

So if anyone has any of this terrible brew left and desperately wants to get rid of it, I would volunteer! ;-)

Not to mention that the Secret of Love bottles are truly my absolute favorite bottles!

I really wanted to like this one, given the bottle is so nice. But it smells horrible, at least for my tastes. Woody, leathery, smoky, spicy

There is something vile about this scent, like a medicine cabinet in a nursing home mixed with rotting fruits.

I enter a store with fine leather goods. Bags, shoes, gloves, belts. Everything is high-priced and of the best quality. For leather lovers.

Nut nougat cream with a hint of fruit, sharp oud, and distinct birch tar smokiness. Totally underrated; not much gourmet, extremely smoky.

It started off so beautifully with sweet vanilla incense, then leather and oud came in and melted plastic.

There was no gourmet chef at work, but a desperate food stand owner who threw all the leftovers together.
