Yes, you are familiar, but still different !
This composition is familiar to me; I don't know where I encountered it before, but it's a familiar blend of oud, rose, and saffron. I smelled it in Kilian's (Musk Oud) by the same perfumer, with a green hint of rose and a warm touch of rum, and in Korloff's (Rose Oud), but with a woody note. However, here there's a simple twist that has made the fragrance even more luxurious. The secret word: papyrus! That makes you idéal/idéale

Extreme floral sweetness
The Ideal Oud by Mizensir was the first expensive perfume I bought in 2023, back then as a Christmas gift. Unfortunately, after sniffing around the store for what felt like an eternity, my nose was no longer fully functional after 45 minutes when I made my decision on this scent; otherwise, I might have noticed the strong sweetness more quickly.
In the meantime, I have switched to other, heavier and woodier or even fresher fragrances, and the Ideal Oud is now gathering dust on my shelf, which is a shame...

So much for my personal experience, now to the scent itself, it is by no means bad, just not quite to my taste anymore.

The fragrance comes out of the bottle very pronounced, almost overpowering. When I wore it in the bathroom for the first few weeks, my roommates regularly complained because it lingered strongly in the room, and so it now sits in my bedroom...
In fact, the scent lasts very well throughout the day and loses hardly any intensity, even as the notes change. For me, after about 20 minutes, the scent smells as if I had stuck my nose into a large, pink flower cup that is currently in full bloom. I hardly perceive the Oud anymore... For my taste, what remains smells too sweet and hangs heavily in the air.

The scent of rose petals and this strong oriental sweetness initially gives the fragrance a somewhat feminine touch, although I wouldn't go so far as to call it a women's fragrance. In fact, this is one of the reasons why I stopped wearing it; this strong floral sweetness doesn’t match my overall appearance and style, in my opinion. The fragrance is marketed here on parfumo as a women's scent, although 78% of the owners in the community are male. In my opinion, this fits quite well into the picture; in my eyes, it is a clear unisex fragrance with a tendency towards the feminine.

I probably won't wear it anymore, or maybe on selected days in summer under the open blue sky, but I might also try to sell it. A nice scent for sure, but for me, not an everyday perfume.

Ideal or rather Phenomenal
Ideal Oud, for my taste the most beautiful of the three Mizensir Oud fragrances I tested.
A wonderful top note captivates me from the very first moment. The Bulgarian and Provence rose, not too overpowering and spiced with fiery pink pepper, is already a class of its own. I also find the timing to be perfect. Laotian oud, initially very fruity, blends wonderfully here.

Ideal Oud is anything but linear; it has a great development, and I find the ingredients to be truly refined, so that the harmonizing notes always dominate and complement each other. This creates a fantastic scent progression, varied and harmonious at every moment. I would call this high perfumery art.

When the oud then enters its floral phase, Ylang Ylang and saffron join in, making you forget the roses and creating the impression of a dark, mysterious bloom that enchants the senses. I mean, seriously, this is really well done, a big cinematic experience.

Some time later, the scene shifts to a light candy phase as the vanilla awakens from the base. For a while, it does remind me a bit of Satin Mood by MFK. But that's where the comparisons end. Unlike the other two Mizensir Oud fragrances, I see no further parallels to MFK here; Ideal Oud is a masterpiece that stands on its own.

Again, some time later, the fragrance transforms once more, moving towards woody with beautiful, sweet, resinous tones. I particularly like this drydown. Everything fits perfectly together here.

The entire scenario unfolds over about 12 hours, and even the next day, the scent is still perceptible close to the skin. That is more than satisfactory. I would describe the quality of the ingredients and the composition as excellent; I think this is an exceptional fragrance. Such a thing doesn’t come easily to the perfumer every time. A great achievement.

On the Mizensir homepage, the fragrance is described as unisex, and rightly so; I would say 50:50.
You’ve probably already noticed, this fragrance really excites me again, and I can only recommend you to test it; for me, it’s a top candidate for the wish list and a scent that is guaranteed not to be smelled on every corner.
Also, many thanks to Angua for this wonderful sample.

Faintly powdery rose uplifted by mentholic oud, with a slight leathery undertone and patchouli-like green vegetal smell. Surprisingly fresh.

Soft oud. Starts with beautiful flowers in front of transparent woods. However, the retro note that emerges afterwards, does not really fit.

A woody-spicy scent with a gentle saffron and rose accord. I also perceive oud, but very soft and pleasant. Woody-spicy oud-rose.

Transparent! Bright, a bit sticky and sometimes honey-sweet. Hypnotic, great scent. It doesn’t suit me, but I like wearing it for myself.

Head and heart swapped? Rose comes and stays and stays. Oud almost elegantly reserved. Sweet resinous finish. Beautiful.*

Oud mal airy -light, creamy, delicately spiced, rose-velvety - finally, not a heavy-hitting oud - meltingly beautiful.....

Distinguished, pleasant rose-oud scent. Very rounded, aromatic, and only slightly "oudy." Sweetened by saffron and vanilla. Sensual.

Airy oud, fresh - lightly minty-spicy-sharp, little rose, quite different from what I know (fear), has something.

Sugary white flowers and vanilla. If you want the banality of a drugstore scent for teenage girls at a high price, this is the one. Disappointing.

Beautiful oriental floral spice. The oud, on the other hand, could have been stronger and created a nice contrast.
