Fresh rose/oud with leather
The honeyed rose opening with oriental backbone made me think Perfect Oud was going to be another mukhallat style rose-oud like Amber Aoud Parfum, but then the leather comes in and takes it in a very different direction. The freshness from the opening bergamot somehow sticks around and doesn't get it get too dark as an oud/leather. This is a really very good mass-appealing oud fragrance, but I just think Nouveau Monde does a better rose/oud/leather. I really enjoy the freshness of Perfect Oud though, it is a nice break from heavy resinous thick ambery rose-ouds.

Edit: just saw Perfect Oud on Maple Prime for $125. At that price this quality is unbeatable. If Roja or Boadicea made this fragrance it would be going for $600 easy. 10/10 value for money

Gentleman's oud
This is one of the most elegant and gentlemanly ouds you will come across. It is made quite precisely.

Imagine yourself at an event wearing this perfume and an elegant suit.

The oud here wins because it accompanies the whole scent combination in a subtle and impressive way.

Another thing I really like about this perfume is that it is suitable for almost all seasons, except for the too-hot summer days.

The only reason I don't have it in my collection is that its performance is not impressive, which is why I sold it and bought the big one of this perfume Golden Oud instead, which I think is very similar, only the performance is better (I reviewed it too).

I will sum it up this way: if you don't care that much about the performance of your perfume and you like oud, you need it in your collection.

7.5/10.

Not my type
A reproduced Oud, from Alaskan cedar wood, which has incensed and leathery nuances.
At the beginning this fragrance deceived me, the illusion of agarwood is very strong, but then everything fades away to give way to woody and smoky accents.
Unfortunately this brand hasn't managed to impress me with any fragrance yet, let alone this one.
What a mess.

I was "fluenced" ..
I bought the fragrance as a blind buy because I had seen an Instagram reel shortly beforehand in which the actor Ncuti Gatwa reports that he receives a lot of compliments about his fragrance. It's not entirely clear from the video which one he has, as some of the bottles look very similar and the fox didn't mention which fragrance it was in the video either... after a lot of speculation in the comments, I went for the Perfect Oud because I liked the scents.

Before I get ripped apart, a- I'm new here and b- I'm not good at describing things, unfortunately... :D

I have to say that despite wearing quite a few fragrances, whether designer or niche, I have yet to find the perfect scent. The only "niche" fragrance that gave me a feeling of "this is it - the perfect fragrance" was Creed Aventus back then, it was that wow effect I had about 15-20 years ago as a teenager with Boss Bottled, Acqua di Gio, Le Male, back then. Since then, I've been searching (in vain) for my signature fragrance.

All I can say about the fragrance is that it comes very close to that "wow effect" feeling. Although I have an immigrant background and come from the Middle East, or rather my parents do, I don't really like sweet, heavy fragrances and fragrances with oud, if I may be a little stereotypical. I like fresh, sporty, citrusy fragrances, at least in most cases.

This fragrance is one of my favorites at the moment, it has something fresh, something soft, something creamy and the oud is very subtle for me, so perfect for people who want to make friends with oud. I work with patients in the medical field and the fragrance is in my office, so I can always add it from time to time, the fragrance has never been a sour note, but unfortunately never positive either, at least I haven't gotten any feedback, but to anticipate that I have never done that before, that should make me think :D.

I think the fragrance is great and would buy it again and again for a blind buy. Thanks for reading.

Shock and reconciliation
It was summer and hot when I bought a small sample of Perfect Oud - inspired by the many positive reviews here. Full of expectations, I unwrapped the bottle and sprayed some on my wrist. And then the absolute shock: it smelled like a very dirty kind of cowshed! Where was the fresh, clean and perfect water that was praised in the reviews? I was stunned and had to rinse the stuff off my wrist after a while. I also put the monster under my sweetheart's nose, but she didn't think it was that bad and only said that she didn't like the scent. You're all out of your minds, I think to myself, fie on you!
The bottle ended up at the back of the cupboard, because I wouldn't even give THAT scent to anyone else! Who wants to smell like a cow's ass? But bought is bought and maybe layering something daring or something.

A few months go by, December is just around the corner and I stumble across Perfect Oud again while browsing the internet and I think to myself: why not try it again from the bottle at the back of the cupboard, just for fun. I'm home alone for a few hours today and can smell as I like.

No sooner said than done and, well, what can I say... so either my nose had a kink in it in summer or the juice is no good in the heat!

I was shocked again: no cowshed far and wide! It reveals a beautifully crafted fragrance, starting with a rose that harmonizes well with a neat, clean leather note. However, I don't notice anything of bergamot. The rose fades quite early on and a nice warm oud pushes its way out while the leather continues. After a while, it becomes cleanly woody and the leather is still quietly there. Sillage and longevity are not moving: after 3 hours, my daughter (who can be very critical) didn't make a comment after greeting me, and after 6 hours, my sweetheart didn't even give me an oblique look. However, I can still smell the fragrance close to my body after 9 hours and like to sniff around my hairy décolleté.

I have reconciled myself with Perfect Oud, I am glad that I tested it again and that it took me on this interesting fragrance journey. It was a nice trip, but I wondered when I would wear this fragrance? Most likely at home in the warmth of my own nest, but I have other fragrances that I would rather wear and that my sweetheart likes. That's why I won't be buying the fragrance for the time being, but I'm sure it will pop into my scent memory from time to time and maybe at some point it will become a desire that drives me to buy it. It wouldn't be the first time. And I know now that in the summer sh.... can't show its strength.

Never thought I’d put “soft”, “fresh”, and “oud” together in a description. It really is the perfect oud. Ncuti Gatwa was right to gatekeep.

On my skin: delicious, fresh-sweet-peppery cocoon of woody notes. Almost gourmand with its cleanness and sweet notes. Pretty, so pretty!

Deep and harmonious. Nothing jumps out: neither oud, nor leather, nor sweetness, nor florality. Everything results in elegant versatility.

Surprisingly fresh rose-oud. Airy rose + very woody oud with a dusting of coriander. Leathery undertone that strengthens as it dries down.

Smelling like your standard "guy's fragrance" with a hint of oud, Mizensir really played it safe here - and it shows. 6/10. Not worth the $.
