Summer vibes
The weather has been cold and wet for months. Combined with the long days of Covid confinement at home it can get depressing or melancholic the least. So when a few rays of sunlight appeared last week, I decided that it's time to prepare for summer and find myself a new summer scent. Or two, or three, or maybe let's not limit myself so soon :)
I remember last year I had a sample of Gucci's 'Mémoire d'une Odeur'. Not my favorite in any way, but I did remember the chamomile touch and I enjoyed that a lot. It felt bright like summer. So why not explore chamomile a bit further, right? Thanks to Parfumo's directory I can easily find a few candidates. And although I only know Montale from its endless collection of Aoud variations, this 'Sunset Flowers' seemed different and thus interesting. The name itself is promising already. So I got myself a 2ml sample.
And it turned out just lovely. Summertime all over. Dry flowers form the heart of this scent. Dehydrated grass and flowers due to intense heat and sunshine. Around this you will find apple juice in the opening and chamomille in the drydown. The overall quality didn't really impress and endurance is average -that may change when temperature goes up- but I still got lots of positive vibes from this.
So for sure I'm glad I gave it a try. Not going to make it a full bottle, but it definitely did inspire me to learn more herbals and florals. On the downside, I'm only longing for summer even more now. Sigh.
