Unicorns. They seem to be the only animals, or rather mythical creatures, that make you women seemingly crazier than when you see cute cats or even horses and already freak out.
But seriously, why are women so crazy about horses?
You don't even need to ask guys here, because as soon as you ask a guy what he thinks about horses, he would only respond that he finds horses cool solely because of the size of their "thingy" and that he wishes his "thingy" were at least as big :D … This is even a cliché topic in movies or series (Leonard from The Big Bang Theory, for example, wishes in one scene that he would like to have a "manly strength" like that of a horse, to which Sheldon admonishes him to behave properly… :D).
But seriously, what is it about that? So this love for horses, ponies, and unicorns and so on?
But I can already guess that the answer is hard to fathom, since we could all be asked the same question about cats. Why do we love these creatures so much? On the other hand, cats just look so cute! So the answer here would be rather simpler… And horses? Um… I’d rather not say anything about that before I get all the women here against me! :DD
So how did I even get onto horses?
Quite simply: Because I’m TOO STUPID to read!!! This fragrance here is called Sweet Peony,… so it has something to do with peonies! But I, the fool, keep reading it as Sweet PONY!!!
Well,… and somehow I had to think, since this is a women’s fragrance, about how much some women really like horses and ponies! And that you freak out even more at unicorns (as certain Ritter Sport chocolate with unicorn motifs clearly proved a few years ago!) :DD
The fragrance:
The fragrance begins with rose scents, while almost simultaneously the coffee comes into play. And by "comes into play," I mean that it starts to smell like coffee, not that you either wake up or feel the need to take care of a certain business after enjoying coffee :D
Coconut is the next note that can be quite well detected, which always smells nice and gives it an exotic touch.
A little later, the coffee weakens again, and the coconut is not as strong anymore. The fragrance generally becomes more floral, but I find that the roses can still be best detected among the flowers, as the scent has this slightly sour (but also somewhat sweet) aroma of roses.
The floral and sweet scent remains almost unchanged for quite a while, although at some point a slight woody note can be perceived. This should be sandalwood, even if it cannot be precisely identified.
Many might find it bothersome that the fragrance also has a distinctly noticeable synthetic note, which in my opinion is not really disturbing. Moreover, it is most intense for a while in the heart note and significantly decreases towards the base.
In the base, the fragrance remains mainly floral (where roses can still be best smelled) and is slightly sweet-woody.
The sillage and longevity:
The sillage is average and thus best detectable from a normal to lesser distance.
I found the longevity quite good, as the fragrance lasted more than ten hours.
The bottle:
Hmm, I have never been able to warm up to Montale bottles. They just seem to me like fancier deodorant cans made of shiny aluminum. This one has a pink color with a yellow gradient. The neck of the bottle looks like a screw cap, which is at least interesting; there is no lid. To prevent accidentally pressing the sprayer, there is, as always, a clamp attached, to which the metallic Montale logo is also attached. Well, it’s just okay.
Hmm, the fragrance is quite nice in itself. It starts off unusually with the combination of rose-coffee-coconut, but then settles into the more floral area with sweet notes. Aside from the beginning, most of the fragrance is almost like an average floral scent like many others, only here you still have a somewhat synthetic note for a little while, which one might not necessarily like, although this synthetic aspect noticeably weakens later. Usable in spring and summer as a casual daytime fragrance.
Overall, the fragrance turned out to be mediocre for me, well, maybe slightly better than that, so a test might be worth it, but it’s not something you necessarily need to know. Unless, of course, you find the pink bottle somehow cute :D
And since we’re talking about cute:
I still think cats are the coolest animals ever, not only because they are so beautifully soft and naturally cute, but also because they sometimes have the most confused and silly looks when they don’t know what to do.
Horses, on the other hand, I find… somehow… I really shouldn’t mention this, as I said,… just like this fragrance here: Nice, but slightly boring!
*running away* :DD
