Linda´s Ta'if
The Made-to-Measure Collection consciously focuses on the highest possible concentration of perfume oil in its creations. The customer can choose between a 40- or 50-percent concentration. As every fragrance, with such a high oil concentration, appears completely unique and different, it does sometimes makes absolute sense to choose "only" 40% for a composition. Most of the time, notes are amplified that create a new identity, but can also be too much for some noses, depending on one's preference. Especially at Ta´if Ormonde Jayne has launched several limited or exclusive editions, which have been available in a maximum poured strength of 42% oil concentration so far. (Ta'if Extrême)
As I learned in exchange with Richard of Ormonde Jayne, Linda loves the 50% version of her Ta'if fragrance very much and wears it herself. So it was obvious that this soul fragrance should also be part of the Elixir Collection. Poured at 42% and refined by Cambodian Oudh.
Ta'if Elixir is more than a shining rose perfume. It´s floral and spicy. Without the notes, my first impression was carnation flower, which apparently the freesia brings in here. Something very fresh and spicy, at the same time, the fragrance is amazingly not heavy at all, in the sense of a celebrating the queen of roses, but perfect to wear on sunny, summer days. It flatters the nose and is perceptible yet stylishly moderate. The Oudh, again, I sense only close to my skin, but makes it able to me to assign the woody-smoky accords in the fragrance. These are also very discreet and play an important supporting role.
All these chords create a special, even unusual rose scent, which has plenty of room for variation and, above all, for one's own identity. He accompanies effortlessly over a whole day (12h +) and gets only closer to the skin in the drydown, but never loses his wonderful shine.
