Tropical fruits morph into tobacco/leather

I remember getting this siample back when I wanted to try as much fragrance as I could without putting thoughts into what I liked / didn't like and how notes interact on my skin. Now that I'm clearing Ormonde Jayne samples, I was pretty apprehensive in testing this one, with good reason.

The beginning is absolutely beautiful with the tropical fruits. I get pineapple as the strongest one, with a subtle sweet mango in the background. Didn't get any other notes although the sweetness did seem dialed up. There's some kind of spicy freshness I assume comes from the rhubarb and cardamom. Doesn't take long before tobacco comes barreling in and destroying everything in its path. I get a dark, almost smoky tobacco with a very strong leathery facet. It's very masculine to my nose and also off-putting since I'm not a great tobacco / leather fan. It ends up becoming a powdery tobacco for awhile before finally settling down on my skin. During its last moments, it becomes powdery, slightly fresh and synthetic, very masculine-leaning.

I won't be going for a full bottle for the obvious reasons listed above. Still glad I got the chance to try it out (the tropical fruit beginning was amazing), but I now know better to look at every notes mentioned in a fragrance instead of focusing on the ones I prefer (and hoping they'll stand out on my skin when they never do).

Fruity, deliciously leathery seduction for spring

At first I was skeptical as to whether I would like this fragrance blend. After all, leather and tobacco are far removed from my fragrance comfort zone. Nevertheless, the composition made me curious.

The bottle itself is beautiful and has a fine spray head. The cheerful, elegant color combination of pink & silver sets the mood for the fragrance explosion inside and makes a statement.

The fruity-sweet fragrance is absolutely in the foreground and is gently underlined by the subtle tobacco-leather note. Not at all intrusive, these two fragrance components emphasize the sweetness and make it an absolute must-have for me in spring & early summer.
After a while, the beautiful vanilla note can be detected very subtly in the background.

The fragrance is not overpowering or intrusive in any way. Due to the great coordination of the individual components, the result for me is a fragrance that is absolutely convincing.

It lasts for around 6-7 hours and the sillage is not overpowering, but is clearly and pleasantly perceptible in the surrounding area.

Clearly an absolute recommendation and will be a constant companion for me this spring!

Wow ! I am positively surprised

Montabaco Rio combines the classic Montabaco Intensivo with a fruity-sweet twist.
Does it work? Yes!
The fruity-sweet impressions harmonize perfectly with the well-known leather-tobacco mix, which is pushed with ISO-E and Ambroxan.

The fragrance also starts off fruity and sweet. Various fruits, pineapple, rhubarb and above all mango create this lovely impression. In my opinion, however, this twist is never overdone. It doesn't come across as overpowering, too sweet or too fruity.
Everything is perfectly balanced, especially with the leathery tobacco notes that we already know from the Intensivo.
The leather from the base can already be sensed and is super elegant. In addition, we have this pleasant tobacco and slightly woody notes.

The Ambroxan and the ISO-E Super are also perfectly dosed and give the fragrance a pleasant boost.
It is often too much for me with the ISO-E, for example.
The popular Montabaco Verano from the same fragrance house is a perfect example. Personally, this facet was just a little too overloaded for me.
I like it here.

Over time, the fruity impressions recede more and more, leaving the beautiful leathery notes, the tobacco and some sandalwood.

In Montabaco Intensivo, for example, floral notes still come to the fore.
These are completely missing here in Rio.
Am I mad about that? No.
I found them perfectly fine in the Intensivo, but the Rio doesn't need them. It's good the way it is.

The performance can be described as quite good.
On average, it lasts me about 8 hours. It levels out at 7-8 hours. The sillage is fine.

All in all, a fragrance that has convinced me and I really like it!

Smoky, mystical, exotic fruits.
Fun in a bottle. There's never been anything like it.
It's simply fun. The smoky impact really hits, but also in the most pleasant way. As a result, the fruity aromas never become squeaky or chewing gum-like.
