Tart fruitiness followed by woody oud with sweet vanilla
No longer exclusive to Fenwick since I got myself a sample of it at Etiket, I've had this sample for awhile, but forgot about it. Now that I'm going through my older decant, it's time to explore Ormonde Jayne!
I think I went for this one because of the peach and blackcurrant note found at the top. I'm not a fan of oud in general, so I'm still a bit surprised I had it in my stash. Overall, it's a "perfumey" sweet, floral and fruity fragrance that morphs into a woody, sweet drydown. The start is very subtle peaches and blackcurrant. I do detect a fruity tartness, but it's quite faint. What I'm mostly getting are the powdery white florals and the sweet vanilla / woody oud that come from the bottom. It's a very accessible oud, tempered by the sweetness of the vanilla.
It's a lovely fragrance, but it's just not my vibe. I'm not a woody type of person so the drydown didn't resonate with me. It's still a very nice fragrance, but might not be my thing. If you're looking for something sophisticated, but casual and feminine, this is a nice fragrance for light weather and colder moments!
