I boldly test everything that comes my way - even fragrances whose names indicate that I have amoral feelings towards some of their ingredients. In this particular case: ylang-ylang. But since I've really liked all the fragrances in the Prada Infusion range without exception, I'm not making an exception here.
Süß'n'Sandel let me do this in the bathroom as a precaution, I don't want the living room to smell of the stuff too. And then, surprisingly, the sun came out - pure vacation feeling. The citrus fruits are pleasantly restrained, a little cardamom and bergamot yes, but by no means pungent or with a cleaning agent vibe. And then really beautiful, naturally floral and not additionally sweetened ylang! Not so heavy and oppressive at 80% humidity, but light and fresh. Summery for May-August, perhaps also due to the subliminal association with Nivea sun cream. But this has already been absorbed and smells only faintly, not freshly applied from a liter bottle on the beach.
And that's how
Infusion d'Ylang remains. Very linear, no great interplay. Neat body lotion with a summer allusion, done. Unflattering musk, beautiful. Sandalwood without artificial notes doesn't interfere, also nice! Of course, anyone who hates YY will not enjoy this fragrance, but if you are looking for a fine, creamy floral summer fragrance, you can definitely give it a chance (whether you have to buy it for the price is up to you).
It reminds me subtly of
French Riviera, which is a little more aquatic and therefore more unisex. i see
Infusion d'Ylang more for the ladies.
