Ginger, ginger, ginger

A fresh, spicy-green-woody scent, dominated by ginger in various forms i can think of throughout the fragrance: fresh root, shredded or grilled ginger. It has a consistent ginger from start to finish. The fragrance has a spicy, green, and slightly medicinal vibe, with woody undertones and a hint of vetiver note. Unlike other scents in the Les Infusions collection, this one does not have the typical powdery iris note in its drydown. It is ideal for use in spring or on moderately warm autumn days, but it may feel overwhelming in hot and humid weather.

Spicy ginger on a woody green vetiver base for edgy souls

I’ve had this perfume for about two months now, and as the weather gets warmer, I find myself reaching for it more often - not sure if it will still be the case once summer completely settles in.
On my skin, it opens with a sharp burst of mandarin-ginger citrus. It’s not sweet at all, it is almost bitter, and that initial brightness fades quickly, in around ten minutes. Then the ginger starts to bright more and more, until completely take over. The geranium stays shy, subtle and understated.
For the next three hours, the ginger remains the star. It’s fresh and spicy, balanced by a woody and green undertone from the vetiver that lingers softly. I don’t get any of the medicinal notes some people have mentioned in other reviews.
Every time I wear this, I feel sharp, clean, and refreshed. It’s like stepping into an icy shower after a long session in a dry sauna. That contrast, that clarity, is exactly how it wears on me. I’m a queer woman, and to me, it feels gender-neutral (if you’re a woman, this might suit you better if you see "edgy" as part of your style or identity, I must say).
I don’t usually wear perfume for compliments, and I didn’t expect this one to attract any. Not because it isn’t good, but because it is not "crowd pleaser". Still, both a friend and a stranger have complimented me while I was wearing it, which was a nice surprise.

Lemony powdered cold medicine

I don't know what I expected. I hoped it would be a realistic ginger-forward scent, sure, but I'm a reasonable woman, I would've agreed to a more candylike flavor profile. When I sprayed it on my partner, his skin actually did smell like gingery lemon hard candy! It was a fair possibility!

So why did I get cold medicine?

Theraflu, Deflu, Fervex – whichever powdered anti-flu concoctions are available in your country. They all have the same vibe. Flavored, most often with lemon and ginger, but the more they try to hide medicine's flavor behind artificial fruity sweeteners – the more awfully tasting it somehow becomes. Every time I fall ill I can't help but wonder if those things even work at all or if it's just the placebo effect of your brain telling itself "this was horrible, we MUST feel better, the tongue's sacrifice mustn't be for naught"!

And that's what I (and my immediate vicinity) smelled like for about ~2 hours. It was citrusy, and it was gingery, and it was spicy and fresh. Exactly as advertised. Not good.

Once the medicine flavor started fading, the rest of the composition settled close to my skin and became pretty pleasant. Then again, it's just musky vetiver. Hard to go wrong with that. In another ~3,5 hours it withered away completely.

I liked the second part, no complaints. But I didn't come here for vetiver. I came for the ginger infusion. And, to be fair, I got it. Ah well.

Ginger Spritz on the Wrist

I was really looking forward to this one, and yesterday the sample finally arrived in the mail, but my skin was already occupied, so I had to wait until today to sniff it.

Oh, it’s great! It’s really great! Absolutely unisex, fresh, no cleaning product vibes at all... it spontaneously reminds me of those ginger-orange cough drops :D or ginger spritz, both in a positive sense. I was a bit surprised when I looked at the fragrance pyramid, as I had placed ginger in the top note and mandarin in the heart, but well, in the end, I guess it doesn’t make a big difference. Vetiver prevents any association with bathroom cleaners, but it is used sparingly and is finely balanced with the also subtle musk, both adding creaminess and, in my opinion, contributing to its unisex suitability. It remains primarily citrus-fresh. This would also make a fantastic sauna aroma infusion ;D

Ginger and mandarin stay wonderfully soft and uncomplicated and do not tip into sweetness. I believe this could really come into its own in warm weather. Maybe I’ll be generous and let the gentlemen in the house test it as well. In any case, it has secured a spot on my wishlist (currently still with a slight must-I-really-have-this question mark, because it is quite similar to Aqua Allegoria Bergamote Calabria... mhhh).

The bottle is beautifully simple yet chic; if I have to complain, it would only be due to the fact that the fragrance seems to only be available in 100ml.

Wellness for the Office Everyday Life

Mmmmm…delicious, light, and uplifting. The scent impresses with its clear and straightforward line. The top is the heart and the heart is the base. Lemon, mandarin, ginger. Great!
Here, you don’t have to worry about which note you’re currently experiencing. From start to finish, the fragrance remains relatively straight. Before the ginger shot leaves the skin, it becomes a bit creamier, and then it can happily start all over again. And that’s the only catch for me; the scent is definitely noticeable, but it also fades quickly. Okay, it’s clearly a freshie, and that’s known, but still a pity. Prada has created an all-rounder here; anyone who wants to smell good, especially in everyday life, at the office, after the gym, etc., can’t go wrong with this.
For me, the scent is a fixed part of my collection, and I’m glad it exists :-). Thank you, Prada.
