Riding the wave
Today had to work, she thought. Today was the day she had been preparing for for months. The last few days had been upsetting. She'd spent nights keeping her entire circle of friends from sleeping with constant phone calls and had walked miles to channel her head rush into motion.
She was excited to the core and could feel the adrenaline not letting her body settle down. Her breathing was shallow, her neck tense.
She wouldn't make it through the day, she thought. She would fail even before it could all begin. Overcoming it seemed impossible.
But just when she was sure her legs would no longer carry her and she would rather vanish into thin air than tackle this day, the phrase of an old friend came to her mind. "Come on sweetie," she had always said, "let's ride this wave before we go under."
She realized that everything she feared, everything that seemed big and insurmountable right now, was just a snapshot of her life, a particularly high wave to be sure, but one she would overcome because she had ridden other waves quite a few times. She would do her best, stay true to herself, and she would not sink.
With that realization, she walked out smiling.
Victrix means translated (Be)Siegerin, overcomer or even victorious and the name is program. The fragrance impresses with its enormous power, its presence and its endurance. The pepper is clearly perceptible, as is the oakmoss, which however never seems musty, but very fresh. It's a bright and tart unisex scent with incredible longevity and sillage.
