Back to childhood

Sweet Comfort on Cold Days
I love my Dolce Acqua, I can't say how much!
A single spritz below the neck, now, for the first time, from the brand new bottle I bought for winter - a revelation. Of course, the fragrance has its price. But I gladly paid it. This softness, gentle sweetness, delicious refinement, I never want to miss again... If I could choose three fragrances and nothing else could be added - I would honor Dolce Acqua.
Just two months ago, I didn't even know this scent existed.
In autumn, I was in a very upscale niche perfumery, the only one of its kind in our city, looking for a guest gift for a relative's wife. Unknowingly, I sniffed at the first bottle that caught my eye visually: It was Heartless Helen by Penhaligon's. I wished for it for my birthday but had to pick it up myself there - and stumbled upon Dolce Acqua in the process. I treated myself to this fragrance dream for my birthday and stored it until now in the dark perfume compartment of my beautiful old wardrobe. Today was the day to free it from its dungeon. I am so happy with Dolce Acqua!
Cold, damp, darkness, and a fine hint of almond-marzipan above it all - what more could winter do to me...
Give it a chance! The scent strip retained its notes for a full three weeks, and I noticed many developments. In the end, a gentle vanilla remained, simply breathtakingly beautiful. A masterpiece in my eyes.

My Wallet Loves Marzipan
... because it doesn't have to spend a cent on marzipan/heliotrope scents!!! :)
And that's appreciated with my widely spread perfume taste and the testing enthusiasm I sometimes display. Especially with such an expensive brand as PR. From the dozens of fragrances of this outstanding luxury brand, I simply can't like too many. Scents like Dolce Acqua help a lot, as they focus on a fragrance note that I like a bit less, even though there aren't many in the gourmand direction. But marzipan definitely belongs there. Furthermore, I realize that a lot of the brand (at a fantastic level) is quite similar, and you don't really need too many of them. I see this understandably with one eye laughing (€$) and one eye crying (quality, range).

Dolce Acqua is a marzipan scent, a Profumum Roma, a blockbuster that makes the earth shake. But it is similarly soft as Confetto or Battito and a very protective fragrance. Warm, sensual, cozy. It is even creamy and partially reminds me of coconut milk, also has a floral heart. But at the almond point, uh I mean focal point, of course, is the finest marzipan and almonds, once again. There is hardly any development, another major, rightful criticism of the brand from Roma. But at least you know what you're getting, and that immediately. Milk, vanilla, coconut, almonds, marzipan, maybe minimal tuberose - did I forget something? If so, only side notes.

Bottle: applies to all PRs - beautiful and elegant, though unspectacular.
Sillage: I smell it super strongly on me and feel like a marzipan piglet from a Russian royal family.
Longevity: PR is the market leader - here it's 13-16 hours.

Anyone who loves marzipan will find their holy, soft grail here. For those who are a bit skeptical about this mess, like me, there are far more suitable PRs.

And a huge thank you to Lilienfeld for the generous samples, which I will diligently continue to swap and test!

Nothing New from Profumum Roma: The King of Gourmands
Anyone who knows Profumum Roma will never expect a fresh or light scent. Such things simply do not exist here, and in my opinion, that's a good thing.

Confetto, Vanitas & Co. are vying for the top spot when it comes to being the masters of all sweet fragrances. I have found my king: Dolce Acqua.

Profumum Roma knows how to give those who love the sweet life exactly what they want. For me, it's an absolute hit. But I am also a fan of incredible, almost provocative sweetness. I would advise those who prefer Eau de Cologne to skip a scent sample. It would overwhelm you. Further criticism can be gleaned from the contributions of my predecessors :)

Last night, as I went to bed, I wanted to test this scent. Two dabs on my neck and one on each wrist. And what can we conclude? Dolce Acqua doesn't waste any time. It smells as if its life depended on it (if I may say so). I primarily smell almonds and vanilla, but mainly the almonds. If I read here that coconut is supposed to be in it, I can confirm that, although I certainly wouldn’t have figured it out on my own. The almonds completely overshadow all other ingredients. There’s really not much more to say about it. I was able to fall asleep wonderfully with the scent and therefore did not find its sweetness intrusive at any point. As with all scents from Profumum Roma, it applies here too: moderation in dosing is key for those who don’t want to stand out negatively as a scent tree among their fellow humans. Yet despite the low dose, longevity and sillage are simply fantastic. Just the usual quality from Profumum Roma.

Conclusion: the scent is, of course, only for those with a sweet disposition. Therefore, I understand that people who do not like sweet fragrances would tear this one apart.
But I bow to its majesty and pay tribute to the king of all gourmands.

As soon as possible, I will add it to my collection. At the very least, it goes on the wish list :)

Rum Pot with Honey
My first perfume from this brand (now I have three and I always stick with Profumum Roma).

I can't smell any of the listed fragrance notes, but....

When testing in the perfume store, the first impression shocked me. Rum pot! Do I want to smell like that? When I got home hours later, my 7-year-old daughter immediately said, "Mom, you smell so good. Like honey!" and buried her nose in my wrist. She has a fine nose!

On my next visit to the perfume store, I bought it and I enjoy just spraying a little on my chest and delighting in the scent for an incredibly long time. Great love.

A rather linear, warm and creamy/sweet spicy-floral Gourmand, with an inviting, earthy spicy-sweet opening. Unusual coconut-almond combo!

Creamy and sweet, but reminds me a bit of ‘80s white florals too. Almond starts off smelling like almond extract, but turns powdery.

cold weather sweet almond + tonka. Great longevity typical of this brand but not unique, not worth its price tag. Unisex

Almond, heliotrope & vanilla always create a sense of well-being. But it's so sweet that it gives you a toothache, like chewing on aluminum foil.

And another one from the pastry chef series. Almond-vanilla-sugar overkill, but somehow delicious. Here too, I want something spicy right away.

Heliotrope + almond + a splash of coconut milk + lots of sugar = Dolce Acqua. Sillage monster and marzipan bomb with great longevity. I love it!

Great marzipan bomb for those who like it. Sweet, lush, with a powerful sillage! I love this scent, not everyone's darling! But it's mine!

Like Dr. Oetker's bitter almond baking aroma, very marzipan-heavy. It becomes creamy, vanilla, and soft over time. Coconut milk rounds off this lovely gourmand.

No coconut but so much almond-marzipan that I flinched in shock. It sticks in the nose! Even for me, that's too much, unfortunately.
