Floral Notes Overwhelm Coconut
I was looking forward to testing Sabbia Bianca (2025) in its 2025 version, as I never had the chance to smell the 2011 version. Accordingly, I cannot comment on any possible differences.
I generally find coconut notes in fragrances very intriguing, especially when well-balanced. When showcased correctly, coconut always exudes a mix of light summer feelings and creamy warmth. Especially when used subtly, it is truly a pleasant nuance.
However, this exciting nuance is ruthlessly suppressed in "Sabbia Bianca (2025) | Profumum Roma." Ruthlessly suppressed by such opulent floral notes that it takes your breath away. Anyone who thinks that the ylang-ylang and jasmine, as well as the overall floral aspect in "Opera | Xerjoff," are too overwhelmingly opulent must truly keep their distance here.
The flowers initially suppress everything. There is no talk of an opening with coconut. You smell not a synthetic, but a very heavy, cloying wall of flowers, paired with a sweet note that likely comes from the vanilla. But even the vanilla can do little to nothing against the floral wall. Coconut then gradually makes an appearance, bit by bit, but disappears quite quickly in my opinion, as it cannot assert itself anyway.
The performance is truly enormous - comparable to Opera and its floral notes of yesteryear. Just use it sparingly, otherwise, you will likely end up with a headache.
The bottle (typical for Profumum Roma, simple with an almost inferior spray head) will probably last for decades as well.
