The return of a legend

Yes, they did it again. This fragrance transports me be back to the era when Polo Sport Eau de Toilette reigned as the ultimate "blue" fragrance of the 90s and Tommy Hilfiger denim long-sleeve shirts were in-fashion. Yes, way before Bleu de Chanel Eau de Toilette, there was an undisputed "blue" king, a one fragrance for everything kind of scent, showering us with rays of freshness and cleanliness. Now, 30 years later, Ralph Lauren "revives" that iconic "blue" DNA with a modern twist: sweet juicy tropical fruits and woody-aquatic molecules. While as generic as Myslf and Luna Rossa Ocean Eau de Toilette, "Polo est. 67 | Ralph Lauren" is more balanced and far more enjoyable. It outshines every Polo Blue Eau de Toilette, firmly establishing itself as the king of Polo Blues. This is an excellent choice for those who have grown tired of the ubiquitous Aventus, Invictus Eau de Toilette, and Sauvage Eau de Toilette DNAs.

Not bad for what it is

A fragrance I dismissed when I smelled it on tester strip, Polo 67 is actually not too bad. It opens with a really nice juicy fruit note, which I guess is supposed to be pineapple but in actuality smells more "generic fruit" than pineapple specifically. Then the ubiquitous "amber" notes start rearing their ugly head, but in the base they are tempered with a nice smooth sandalwood. My biggest complaint is that this progression happens far too quickly and I would like to have smelled the fruity opening for more than a few seconds upon spraying. Ironically it shares that with another RL fragrance I recently reviewed, Ralph's Club Eau de Parfum whose opening is great, but whose drydown is a lot worse than Polo 67's. All in all, not a bad fragrance for the money; currently (late 2024) it is still quite expensive since it was only released a few months ago, but I am sure it will be on discounters soon enough with the rest of RL's frags for $30-$40 and at that range, it's an OK pickup. I think this would be a great "first fragrance" for a teenager. Even the bottle/labeling gives "back to school" vibes. Inoffensive, great for the classroom or office.

The same but different

While this is not different by any means and some say it’s close to Y myself
It is less synthetic more fruity and a pleasant scent that everyone will either love or either hate. regardless of the reviews it’s something beautiful
This is for the modern man an everyday scent that all women tend to like

Somewhere between YSL Y EDP - Myself EDP

Title says it all, I somehow smell a crisp green apple and some orange blossom somehow.
It's also similar enough to Lattafa Fakhar and to be honest, I wouldn't pay 100€ for the whole bottle, since it's just a casual fresh fruity scent without any catch. The scent is fresh fruity and stays for some good time for a fresh scent and sillage is okay. People said that it kinda smells like Bubblegum too.

Quest for Blue - Polo Myself Edition Y

While browsing through the well-known markets, I stumbled upon the "new" Polo. Since I really like the original Blue, I decided to grab it after a short test. A purchase that has paid off extremely well.

Polo 67 opens very similarly to YSL Y - the apple note has been replaced here by a fresh, juicy pineapple note. So nothing in the direction of Explorer or Hacivat - rather Boss Bottled Unlimited. Along with the beautiful citrus note - everything is fruitily blended - an amazing opening!

In the drydown, the fragrance undergoes quite a significant development and goes extremely in the direction of "Myself Le Parfum | Yves Saint Laurent". Floral, with a light vanilla note, very clean - it remains light and fresh.

The pineapple and citrus notes disappear relatively quickly, leaving behind this floral freshness with a pleasant sweetness that does not come across as synthetic to me. Instead, it is very clean. The orange blossom is, of course, missing, but here you have the vanilla included. It is not officially listed, but it definitely feels that way.

The fragrance is basically a combination of 2 scents (at least in style) that already exist - it takes the YSL Y opening, gives it a twist, and then has a beautiful drydown in the style of Myself - also with a different note. Since I like both very much, I can't help but like this one, not for originality, but for execution.

As a criticism, one could say that it shoots its best powder early in the opening.

Longevity and sillage are also okay.
