Hello everyone,

Today, I want to talk about the H - The Exclusive Parfum pour Homme.

I really took a little while (several weeks or even months) to think about whether I should write this review...., but at the end of the day, I do help xx people by stating the negatively charged truth! Besides, I would also feel really strange if I rated most fragrances relatively well and didn't mention certain ones...

Before I get to the actual scent, the sprayer, cap, bottle, and overall packaging design is generally mega! As is almost always the case with the company, you can count on it = Thank you!

Now to the scent:

A little preface - I somehow feel that ROJA was heavily inspired here. I want to say that I don't find this bad! Why some people see it this way is a little mystery to me....

Companies like NISHANE also like to do this and look "left and right" = they get inspired and have their own signature, and they combine this with the idea, and here it's similar because I really get extreme vibes from two fragrances. On one hand, Plum Japonais and on the other, Jubilation XXV Man (but a veeeery old batch), and this as inspiration only with the craftsmanship of Roja, resulting in H - The Exclusive Parfum pour Homme.

At the end of the day, it's a spicy, slightly oriental scent with a lot of plum, a bit of woodiness, although a large part of the notes never actively comes to the fore.

Do you like plums = test it!
Don't like plums = avoid it/run away!

I find it so-so... (in itself), yet I wanted to get to know it!
But I shouldn't have necessarily done so....

Why?

Some people here see it the way I do, and others perceive it completely differently (which is perfectly fine!). I, for one, find it really very musty, quite unpleasant, unattractive, and disturbing. I had 3 or 4 different samples, and yes... it varies...., sometimes more, sometimes less. But this very overripe and musty plum is always there...

For example, "Indochine | XerJoff" also works with an overripe strawberry, but that fragrance never has this vibe...

H/S.... is like the current Jubilation XXV Man (from 2022) so-so in the good range.

How does it come across...?

Very modest! The H - The Exclusive Parfum pour Homme is so far one of the most modest for me..., unfortunately.

Recommendation = no!
Discontinued = Good so!

The Gentle Oriental Plum Dream

H - The Exclusive Parfum pour Homme I bought blindly in the hope of finding a better and more noble Tom Ford Plum Japonais, as that has unfortunately been discontinued. Unfortunately, this also applies to H - The Exclusive Parfum pour Homme, but at least this one is still available. Roja fragrances generally don't have it easy with me, as some may know. The price always triggers facial paralysis for me. This is no different with H - The Exclusive Parfum pour Homme, but here I could somehow justify the expenditure for my inner self.

H - The Exclusive Parfum pour Homme is a delicately fruity, fresh, and oriental scent. I couldn't really detect the freshness of the top note, but that didn't bother me much here. H - The Exclusive Parfum pour Homme starts off with the plum, which is gently accompanied by oud. For me, oud and plum are the main players here. The other notes in the base note rather soften the oud and create a gentle framework around the whole thing. I can perceive woods, patchouli, amber, and sandalwood, but I couldn't identify the vetiver and the pepper note.

The longevity is in a good range with 9-10 hours; it could have been a bit more. However, I find the sillage rather disappointing. Here, the sillage is more like an arm's length away and after about 6 hours, it's already very close to the skin. I really expected more in this case. I only accept this because the scent has absolutely blown me away; otherwise, it would have already ended up in the souk for that reason.

Complex Tribute to Ripe Plums

Yesterday, I went to the opera Carmen by Bizet. Great production and cast, and for me, a welcome occasion to wear H - The Exclusive Parfum pH. One could certainly have chosen another fragrance, but I assumed it might fit.
And yes, it fit. I could hardly perceive the top note. While the citrusy start is noticeable, the plum kicks in very early, and the citrus notes and sweet, juicy ripe plum wrestle for a while. During this phase, I was uncertain; it didn't smell really good at first. But then the plum takes over. It doesn’t remind me of plum jam, as that includes spices that the Exclusive Parfum does not contain. It's more like the plum compote made from real plums that I loved eating at my grandmother's house as a child, and the most delicious part was slurping the juice from the polished glass bowls.
Rockrose and plum engage in a wonderful interplay. And this with a lot of power and emphasis.
As the romantic entanglements of Carmen and the until then exemplary and duty-bound soldier Don José tightened, woody notes, a slightly leathery oud, and piercing vetiver burst into the plum-rockrose harmony.
Similar to the proud torero Escamillo, who, with his appearance, quickly brought an end to the love happiness of the two protagonists. And it may sound overly sentimental, but now the fragrance really turns up, just like the plot.
Plum, rockrose, oud, and at times warmer and at times sharper notes from wood and vetiver vie for attention. That’s exactly what I love about complex fragrances; a slight movement of the body, and a different note comes forward, only to be replaced by another fragrance note in the next moment. But the fruity plum always returns, providing a harmonious balance.
Hardly anyone in my row at the opera, including two rows in front and behind me, could have perceived Carmen as a Bohemia working in a cigarette factory after this evening (or can one still say gypsy in relation to an opera?). After this evening, the culture enthusiasts were surely convinced they had met Carmen as a picker in the love tangle on an Andalusian plum plantation.
This Exclusive Parfum has many elements that excite me. It remains on my wish list, and I will probably always associate this fragrance with the opera. And thanks to its strong sillage, probably not just me.
